The climax swapper does exactly as its name intends. You will exchange a climax in hand for another climax, usually in the waiting room. It has now become a core staple in the vast majority of decks due to its ability to push for advantage with recycling climax combo abilities.
Contrary to some popular notions, the climax swapper is one of the oldest profiles around. It’s been in the game for quite some time now. However, its availability was rather random back in the past with only select sets getting the profile at all. It has become far more valuable as time has passed for many reasons. Firstly, it has become much easier to get a climax into hand compared to before with all the new draw and force check and add abilities. Secondly, the addition of the arc trigger, enabling players to grab climaxes from the waiting room allows players to set-up for the following turn with this profile.
Wording-wise, nothing much has changed with the climax swapper. There are the additions of some newer free climax swappers that don’t require the traditional single stock, but these decks usually have a strict requirement on which climaxes you can run as a result. Alternatively, the costs can be paid through sacking other characters, but this is still relatively new as of the current post.
Climax swapper is a powerful profile that is exceptionally good in decks that are able to chain their combos continuously. It’s still a good profile to run in most decks since having the right climax is always important. One key thing to remember is that climax swappers virtually do nothing without you having a climax in hand.
