IM@S – 765 Pro Fight!! (R/Y) [05/25/2023]

The sweet graceful Haruka Amami, despite her gentle looks, can pack quite a powerful punch. When surrounded by her friends from 765 Production, she is unstoppable as she takes on the idol world with a bright smile on her face and full confidence.

Looking towards the audience with stars in her eyes, Haruka enchants the crowd with her powerful voice and dance. When she enters the stage from hand, you may look at the top x cards of your deck and add a card to hand, x being equal to the number of other characters you have on stage. Furthermore, when her climax is placed on stage, you may pay her costs if she is in the front row and grant all your characters the ability to deal a single point of damage when they swing.

Keep in mind that one of her requirements is the discarding of the Haruka in the center which is an oversized beater with an anti-auto effect reversal ability (cannot be reversed by auto abilities).

To compliment our strategy here, the alluring Azusa enters the stage. Azusa is a large beater during your turn that also has a free re-stand ability (which comes at an alternative cost). Compared to other re-stand abilities, Azusa’s re-stand is based entirely off some luck and the top cards of your deck. Upon reversing her opponent, you mill the top card of your deck, and if that card carries a soul icon, Azusa will re-stand herself. Now this works very well with Haruka because Haruka’s ability does not state once per turn, meaning with a single Haruka and two Azusa’s on stage, you can potentially swing in with ten instances of damage (two from Haruka and four from each Azusa, assuming you get both re-stand instances off).

To help with gather the enormous stock needed to assemble Haruka’s combo, Miki steps up to the stage. As a burst powered level one reverse combo, Miki has an interesting ability that grants both herself and another character the power to blind stock the top card of your deck upon reversing respective opponents when her climax is in play. Furthermore, because Azusa checks for soul triggers, her climax is perfect as another potential target for Azusa.

To help gather more stock, the above cards are highly recommended. Hibiki is a backrow assist with the ability to turbo charge your stock, assuming you have less than your opponent’s, by sending your reversed characters to stock. Furthermore, she can be an expensive payout to spawn a character to stage from your waiting room equal to the your level or lower. Azusa in the center flies away to stock when her damage in cancelled, and alternatively, if damage is not cancelled, she will instead go to memory if you have two or less cards there. This is great considering that level three Azusa wants to reduce the number of non-triggers in your deck. Lastly, Ami is a way to mill your deck to potentially deal more soul damage, and more importantly, lets you stock a card from hand when she’s played from hand to stage.

Yukiho above can cheaply spawn level zero threats from your waiting room for a single discard of a card. She’s also a decently sized beater during your turn that can occasionally murder opposing level two threats. Miki is a J.C. profile that grows for each character placed on stage after her. She can potentially save your other cards for a cheap cost, helping you retain hand for the following turn. Lastly, Hibiki is great as a burst beater coinflip profile that can deal damage and fly back to your hand at the start of your opponent’s draw step.

If you choose to run backups, Haruka above is a great option as an oversized backup. More importantly, she carries a soul trigger as to help Azusa meet her re-standing condition.

The promotional card featuring Chihaya, Miki, and Haruka is a great card that pumps a character’s power on play while also being a cheap way to force draw a card. Miki is a decent level two option with a soul trigger that can help you assemble pieces for your combo if she reverses a level two or higher card. Haruka’s on play from hand ability lets you shuffle two cards back into the deck, ideally triggers, to help with procuring Azusa’s restand. You then draw a card and discard one, hopefully a non-trigger. Yayoi’s event can forcibly refresh both player’s decks, hopefully refilling your deck with soul triggers if need be or fixing a poor deck state.

Make sure to maintain a good amount of soul triggers within your deck as you enter level three to pull off the combo. As mentioned before, a single Haruka and two Azusas can net you a total of ten damage instances. However, as another reminder, Azusa herself can restand during the turn she’s played by simply reversing her opponent even without Haruka’s combo and a bit of top deck luck.
