Set Review – Princess Connect! Re:Dive

Join the adventures of Yuuki as he dives into the world of Landsol with its unique and interesting inhabitants.

Originally debuting in 2018, Princess Connect! Re:Dive is the sequel of its predecessor, Princess Connect!, which came out back in 2015. Reborn with an entirely new cast, Re:Dive centralizes around Yuuki and his new troupe of friends in Bishokuden: the bubbly Pecorine, the ever-bashful tsundere Kyaru, and the lovely reliable Kokkoro.

Princess Connect! Re:Dive came out with its first booster in January 2021. About a year and a half later, its second booster titled Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 came out in September 2022.

The set primarily focuses on the several guilds within the game. Universal traits include that of Guild (ギルド) and Landsol (ランドソル). Despite not having the names of the girls’ respective guilds directly printed as a trait, many of the set’s synergies reward the player for combining guildmates together. Without further ado, let’s “dive” right into it, shall we?

Bishokuden shines brightly above. The gimmick of this guild relies upon multiple colours and level experience to enable various effects. Each of the girls, representing their own unique colour, splashes the deck with their own personality and strengths.

Yuuki acts as the core of the group. Introduced in the second booster, Yuuki works as a bonder to all three early level one combos while giving them a selective trigger ability. Despite not sharing colour with the girls, he comes with a bonus of ignoring colour requirements, letting him slide into any variant of a Bishokuden deck.

The second group to be introduced is that of the Nakayoshi Club (Friendship Club) featured by its guild leader, the pint-sized genius Yuni, the ever-cheerful Chieru, and the quiet but kind and gentle onee-san Chloe.

The gimmick of their deck uses both Chieru and Chloe as experience to allow Chieru to be early played from hand. In turn, Chieru can drag out Yuni from the waiting room to allow you to finish your opponents and/or establish early game pressure with ease.

To help drive their efforts forward, the fluffy guild of Caon uses their collaborative efforts in conjunction with the Nakayoshi club. Kasumi acts as an interesting free climax swapper for both the Kaori combo (shown above) and Yuni’s combo.

The Kashiwazaki sisters, although from different guilds, display their sisterly bonds while deploying onto the stage. Featuring a treasure combo and a wind combo, the sisters carry a unique synergy that is complimented by a reveal five brainstorm with an innate start of main phase scry (make sure not to miss the timing).

Twilight Caravan leaves its leader, the proud samurai Ruka to stand and hold the front stage while being supported by Mitsuki from the back. The deck aims to set up a challenging field for your opponent to deal with and unexpectedly punish your opponent should Ruka cancel any damage following her combo.

Sarendia and the Mercurius Foundation combine to form a strong merchant coalition. Childhood friends Saren and Akino stockpile large amounts of advantage by benefiting from climax triggers.

Their guildmates are ready to support them from the back row, giving a number of benefits based on which of their respective leader’s climaxes are triggered.

Carmina takes the stage with their joyous melodies. Having multiple advantage combos, Carmina almost certainly ensures that you will always have the hand to take on any opponent.

And these are just some of the sample guilds that are offered in the series. Make sure that you make note of any specific requirements that are needed for certain guilds. Use the guilds’ unique talents and personalities to lead you to a resounding victory and preserve the kingdom of Landsol.
