The “Freefresh” Profile

At first glance, the name of this profile might sound a little ridiculous or silly. The term is actually a combination of two different effects: free and refresh. The idea for a freefresh is quite simple. A freefresh card is essentially any card that forces a refresh for your deck without causing you to take the mandatory refresh damage.

As stated in the introduction, a freefresh accomplishes the goal of forcing a refresh for your deck and mitigating the standard mandatory refresh damage that comes normally. How these profiles accomplish this is by place the entire waiting room on top of the remaining deck and shuffling. This is important to note as the act of sending the deck to the waiting room and shuffling could be considered as an act of revealing information from a hidden zone.

One of the first refreshers, if not the first, is the Midboss shown above. Midboss and most freefreshers allow the player to perform the refreshing effect when they are at five or less cards in deck. Doing so would offer the player another reward including that of refreshing the deck, such as dealing a single damage to the opponent (cancelable) as shown from the Midboss above.

Freefreshers, for the most part, have not changed. Even the base power is generally the same. However, secondary effects may have improved. There may be further functions to the card other than the base freefresh effect that could be relevant or beneficial to your deck.

Alternatively, there are freefresh counters which accomplish the exact same goals as the freefresh beaters. Usually, their condition costs a larger amount of stock; however, they can instantly refresh your deck without meeting certain other nuanced conditions like the normal five or less cards in deck.

There are alternative ways to refresh the deck outside of using the freefresh profile or freefresh counters specifically. Although, these kinds of effects are rather rare, expensive, or require another specific set-up.

Overall, freefreshers are great because of the mitigation of damage from refreshing. Furthermore, freefresh backups can be used to pay out any dirty stock or to ensure that you have climaxes in deck for a potential cancel. Make great use of this utility to bypass the punishing mechanic of refresh damage and preserve your own life total.
