Weiss Schwarz Announcements [07/22/2026]

Here we are again with another round of new series. I’m quite excited myself after seeing the announcements this time as there seems to be a mix for just about everyone.

Mugendai Mewtype

Mugendai Mewtype is the newest group to join the long running franchise of BanG Dream! While featured within the series of Virtual Girl, the group can be used interchangeably between that of both BanG Dream! and VirtualGirl@World’s End. The unit depicts a new era of virtual idols, a group that exists with both in real life and online personas. Catch them with their full dedicated booster arriving on November 13th, 2026.

Stella Sora

Are you ready for an adventure alongside some young and rather silly girls as you enter a world full of hi-jinks and mischief? You star as the mysterious character named Tyrant as you quickly get accustomed to this magical fantasy world with extraordinary powers and fun relationships. Stella Sora will be releasing simultaneously with both a trial deck and full booster on October 16th, 2026.

Azur Lane Vol. 3

Get ready to sail the high seas again as you join the girls of Azur Lane. Whether you are a fan of the posh Royal Navy or the Gothic outlook of Iron Blood or even the wild and untamed spirit of the Eagle Union, there is bound to be a faction for you. Azur Lane will be receiving its third set with a full booster on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2026.

Oniichan ha Oshimai!

Oniichan ha Oshimai! (Onimai!), despite its visual outlook, is, at its core, a heartwarming series where a younger genius of a sister tries to break her older brother out of his slump. After years of dealing with personal issues and the pressures of society, Mahiro ended up being a shut-in; however, despite his current conditions, he used to be a doting elder brother to his younger sister, Mahiru. With one of her experiments, she managed to transform him into a younger girl as they begin to revisit and re-experience the joys of youth but through the perspective of him as a girl.

There isn’t that many series with gender-bender in Weiss Schwarz, and I so happen to already own one of the few

Regardless, we’ll be seeing Mahiro and his her friends at the start of the new year on January 22nd, 2027 with a specialized premium booster.

Girls und Panzer

Striking me deep in the heart here, Girls und Panzer is a long running series that is still ongoing with its supposed final set of movies. Girls und Panzer follows the story of the Anglerfish team, a group of students engaged in the ancient art of sensha-do (the martial art of using tanks as weapons) [don’t ask, one of the creators involved is also the same one involved with Strike Witches and Upotte!!].

The girls tighten their friendships through battles against other neighbouring schools with their own series of tanks. The series is very tight when it comes to tank specifications and also tank usage. If you are someone interested in that, this may be a very welcome watch for you. I watched this show when I was entering high school if that shares both my age and the age of this series as a whole. My major gripe is that I can still remember and see the CGI scenes in my head when it comes to tank-on-tank action. I’m not too fond of those scenes appearing on cards themselves. But that may just be me. Anyways, Girls und Panzer (not Girls and Panzer) will be appearing on October 30th, 2026 with a trial deck and full booster.

Persona 30th Anniversary

“Am I dreaming or is this reality?” “Rumours can become reality.” “To engage with life, we must accept and engage with death itself.” “Sometimes you need to change your perspective (lens) to see the truth.” “Take off your mask and be who you are.”

In a rather surprising announcement, Persona will be receiving a 30th anniversary booster series. Not much is known about the series currently, and the set release date is unknown but is slated to be sometime in winter in 2026. From the visual appearances, it appears that all the mainline games will have their characters featured including that of the unrepresented protagonists of the first game, Persona 2, and the mobile game Persona X. We have written a recent series review of Persona as a whole so do feel free to check it out.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya!

From the studios of Netflix comes the hit movie Cosmic Princess Kaguya!, a newer retelling of the ageless story of Princess Kaguya. While the fundamental story has not really changed, some elements have been modified with liberty allowing for a modern version featuring both futuristic technologies while incorporating Kaguya into a modified version of our real world.

Iroha, a struggling student looking to seek independence and make meaning for herself, is unfortunately or fortunately cursed with that of meeting the titular Kaguya. Kaguya drags the two of them into virtual reality where she wants to become a successful streamer much to the chagrin of Iroha herself. Join them on their adventure as the set will arrive with a premium booster on December 18th, 2026.

Anyways, that’s pretty much it for this time of reveals. I do like the inclusion of some series from back in the day like Girls und Panzer, some gacha series for those who are interested like Stella Sora, and even some new shows like Cosmic Princess Kaguya! This is great, and I love it. More diversity is a good thing.
