The “Saya” Profile

Have you ever wished to simply heal your entire clock at once? Well, there is a card that does so. However, events are difficult to get. Furthermore, they don’t provide a body, meaning you still have to find a way to beat your opponent. You may be surprised, but Bushiroad had printed the solution a long time ago. Meet Saya.

LB/W06-056R “エクスタシーモード”沙耶

Ecstasy mode Saya, considered by many as the originator of the ability, is a rather unique card with a rare ability. At the start of your opponent’s encore phase, if your clock is exactly at six cards, you may rest her and shuffle all six cards from your clock back into your deck, effectively healing you to a clean clock. This does get around most anti-healing abilities since all the cards are sent to deck instead of waiting room. Also keep in mind, her writing may seem deceiving at first since she does state that you must rest her and perform the ability. However, given how the game works and you perform all of a mandatory ability as much as you can, if you meet the condition, she will attempt to rest herself, and if she is already rested, you will still perform the ability. If she is reversed, you may still perform the ability while resurrecting her to field.

Overall, nothing has really changed much regarding Saya’s new clones. Saya hasn’t really seen much of a printing since her release. As a matter of fact, while researching Saya, we only came across two clones with the last one printed in the Idolm@ster Shiny Colours set with Sakuya. The cards may have some slightly different abilities attached, but the main Saya ability remains untouched. Interestingly enough, the Jyushimatsu printing that came out in 2016, meaning a full eight year gap between the printing between him and Sakuya, can come out early, meaning with a bit of luck, it is possible to loop and maintain yourself at level two without the use of a standby trigger.

Saya is a rather rare and unique profile. She hasn’t really seen much play outside of trying to gamble with your clock. Furthermore, her accessibility in sets is extremely low. However, what do you think about the profile? If she’s present in your set, would you give her a try?
