Revue Starlight – Honk Honk MotherTrucker (Y/R) [02/08/2023]

So you think you can walk into the Hanayagi estate and do whatever you want? I don’t think you understand how this works pal. Oi, Futaba! get the naginata! Once I’m done here throw ’em into the trunk and get this filth out of my sight.

Time to say “night, night” bud! I’ll send your regards to your boss. – Kaoruko

With her freshly sharpened blade held high, Kaoruko prepares to bring down punishment. When her climax is played, Kaoruko cuts to the chase and gives her gang the ability to ping two when their damage is cancelled. Additionally, Kaoruko has the on-play ability to bounce an opposing character back to their hand while gaining burst power for the turn.

The boss is a stubborn one I’ll admit. Even though I’ve been her right-hand man since childhood, she still expects me to chauffeur her around. How ridiculous. – Futaba

To help gain further advantage in the early game, Futaba charges straight into battle. When Futaba’s level one combo attacks, she allows you to discard a card and sacrifice her climax in play to search for two characters. Due note: she requires another character on stage to stand herself during your stand phase.

I don’t think you understand the situation you just found yourself in. You thought I was just a fragile little lady within this syndicate? Way to fall for my bluff, idiot. Now you’re done for! – Kaoruko

Kaoruko and Futaba have a pairing combo that works to help you assemble the finisher Kaoruko as early as level two. During the turn Kaoruko’s level two is front attacked, you may spawn her finisher from hand in her place during the encore step. Additionally, when played, she mills the top two cards of your deck and gains the ability to side attack without penalty if she mills a level zero character. Futaba’s card’s on-play ability allows you to discard a character to search and add Kaoruko’s finisher to hand.

Alright, everyone load the trucks. Some bozos thought they can get away with walking into my house uninvited. Time to give their friends a quick visit. – Kaoroko

Another small combo to consider is shown above. Kaoruko’s early play healer here has a memory condition, and when it’s fulfilled, she gains immense power and the ability to send a character from waiting to stock when she performs a direct attack. Futaba’s card is required for Kaoruko’s memory conditions. Futaba herself has the ability to ping damage when she attacks as long as you control a character with Kaoruko [香子] in its name on stage. To help fulfill Kaoruko’s early play condition, her drop salvage profile has an on-play effect to send Futaba from either deck or waiting room to memory.

Alright, ya’ll listen up! These idiots thought it would be funny to poke their little heads out and trample over our estate. I ain’t going to take that disrespect get out there and crush ’em. – Kaoroko

Some back row cards to support the front row are shown here. Kaoruko’s salvage brainstormer has an on-play effect that prevents one of your characters from getting reversed from opposing AUTO effects until the end of your opponent’s turn. Futaba’s level three support is a healer that provides additional support to your front row. She has another nifty ability to perform a salvage ability for a cheap cost. This effect requires Futaba to rest herself and discard a card while Kaoruko’s brainstormer is on stage.

Hey Kaoruko! Seems that our crew is struggling with these guys, I think it’s time to get our hands a little dirty. – Futaba

In order to defend our girls in the front, backups can provide supportive abilities to keep them in the fight. Futaba’s backup is a generic power pump that can pump further power if you RESONATE with Kaoruko’s finisher, essentially turning her into a costless 2500 powered backup. When using Kaoruko’s backup, a cost can be paid to salvage a copy of herself.

Job’s done, Oi! ya’ll better not be dead! We still have a mess to clean up here. – Futaba

Futaba donning her gangster attire is a Riko profile which also pumps power when she attacks. Cartoon Futaba is an on-play filter that lets you reveal and add the top card of your deck to your hand if it is a character and discarding a card after; additionally, she gains power if she mills a climax. Kaoruko smiling into the distance is an on-reverse Rize profile. Teary eyed Futaba allows you to mill the deck for free with the amount she mills based on the total number of characters on your stage. She can also pump the soul of a character by returning two characters from waiting room to deck, working perfectly in tandem with Kaoruko’s finisher.

Well, well, well, what do we have here? You barked up the wrong tree idiot. Who do you think I am? This little stunt of yours is going to cost you more than this little raid you know. Tie ’em up and throw ’em into that truck. This one has the privilege of getting to experience the Hanayagi send-off. – Kaoruko
