Oshi no Ko – B-Komachi Reborn (Y) [12/09/2023]

With the death of Ai Hoshino, B-Komachi quickly dissolved. Years later, several individuals, including Ai’s very own child, Ruby Hoshino, decides to take it upon themselves to remake B-Komachi becoming the second generation of the famed idol group. Kana Arima, Mem-cho, and Ruby Hoshino, take on the stage as they try to shine bright as their predecessors had.

Kana stands as the center during the group’s debut. As a rising star in the idol world, Kana sends a storm of damage to your opponent should she cancel her attack with her climax. If your opponent would ever deny Kana’s love (cancelling her damage), they will mill the bottom three cards of their deck and take two damage for each level zero card or climax milled, punishing them for not revering the baking salt queen.

Kana’s early advantage draws in all the fans. When she attacks with her combo, if you fulfill her experience requirement, you may perform her cigarettes ability. Additionally, if you reveal levels equal to two or more, you may perform a hand fix ability with your waiting room.

There was some joke about the forbidden one and it’s many parts that could have been in place here, but Bushiroad neglected the opportunity. So much wasted potential. Anyways, the three idols here have arrived and are here to bless us with their idol power. Ruby of the left is a free climax swapper for choice climaxes, perfect for this eight choice trigger deck. Mem-cho of the center bounces an opposing level zero or lower character in the front row on play if you wish while also being a drop salvager. Lastly, Kana of the right is a coinflip beater for pummeling your opponent’s characters while potentially bouncing herself back to hand during your opponent’s draw step.

On top of our sweet Kana’s level one advantage combo, we have the pairing here. Mem-cho grants the event to the right, the aptly named First Stage, a choice trigger icon. Additionally, Mem-cho is a global assist during your turn that also grants an additional global 500 power when you place a choice climax in the climax zone.

First stage is a modular event that gives you plenty of different options to choose from. The first ability lets you snag a climax from your deck. The second ability gives one of your characters a large amount of power for the turn and puts itself into stock. Lastly, the final ability, the ability that costs a whopping four stock, grants one of your characters the ability to deal three damage once per turn when they attack. Depending on your situation, choose the ability that helps you the most. Remember that Mem-cho does grant the event a choice icon, so throughout the game, make sure to use those triggers to grant yourself additional hand or stock.

Given the power of our Ruby climax swapper, we have the ability to freely exchange between combos. As such, we can potentially run a secondary combo with that of 2/1 Mem-cho shown above. The biggest benefit comes with the fact that she has a soul trigger, helping us with amassing hand or stock. She’s not to shabby herself as a large beater that gains power for each of your other characters on stage. Her combo lets you salvage a character when her climax is played, and on top of this, if your opponent cancels the damage dealt by her, you can place two characters from waiting room to stock.

Mem-cho additionally rises to the occasion as a modular early play. Mem-cho lets you pick one of her two abilities on play with the first being the ability to check the top three cards of your deck and add a card to hand, and the second ability lets you discard a card to heal a character from your clock to hand.

As a pseudo combo piece, and more importantly, for her soul icon trigger, Kana here has a double trigger ability at the cost of a single stock when she swings if you have a choice trigger in your climax zone.

Several backup options are available for the deck if you so wish. Mem-cho is a Leafa backup. Kana has a rare costed ping one ability when her backup ability is used, letting you sneak some extra damage during your opponent’s turn. Lastly, Ruby is a memory counter to deal with opposing sticky field threats.

0/0 Ruby looking shocked is a Rize profile for characters with Experience (経験) keyword when she’s sent to waiting room. This is perfect as she can filter for quite a number of cards such as that of level one Kana, your early play Mem-Cho, and even your finisher. 0/0 Kana reveals the top card of your deck and gains a soul if the top card is either a character of the First Stage event. Additionally, she can spawn the top card of your deck when she swings, if that card is a level zero or lower character, to your back stage if it is empty. 0/0 Ruby trying to come up with an excuse plays a mini-game with your opponent where both players mill a card, and if your card is higher level than your opponent’s, she gains 3000 power for the turn. Additionally, when her damage is cancelled, you may bounce her back to your hand. 3/2 Kana is a bouncer on play that lets you bounce an additional character on your opponent’s stage if you discard a card. Furthermore, she refunds a stock from your waiting room if you have full field. 1/1 Kana is a stock Adachi profile that also grants a character some power on play if you meet her experience requirement and hex-proof for the turn. Lastly, 1/0 Kana synergizes with a choice climax if there is one in your climax zone when she swings, granting herself burst power and rearranging her top two triggers. If you meet her experience, you may also give a Shima-kai power burst to one of your characters.

One last card to mention is our resident super Kana fan above. Aqua, as the embodiment of idol fandom, grants your center slot finisher Kana the ability to scry the top of your opponent’s deck when she swings. Additionally, he is a level assist to characters in front. Lastly, whenever any of the new generation B-Komachi members attack, he allows you to choose to give one of your characters additional power for the turn. Kana will seal Aqua’s heart with her miracle performance, ensuring that he feels her love and passion for him.
