Dengeki – Brother-Sister Bonding (G) [09/06/2023]

There is no warmer relationship than that of siblings sharing mutual familial affection for one another. Family sticks together no matter what. Siblings grow together, share in each other’s pain, and are there for one another throughout all their lives. It is through these bonds where young children first develop their social skills. Nothing can overpower the strength of the brother-sister bonds.

To exemplify these powerful bonds, Kirino and Kyousuke step up to the plate. They are the Kousaka siblings whose adventures end up bringing the two closer together. Wherever there’s trouble or celebration, the two will always be side by side both in joy and suffering. Kirino is a finisher with a double-up ability. Firstly, she performs a Moca ability on your opponent. Afterwards, you may pay her costs, and if you do, she deals two damage at the end of her attack.

On the flipside, the Izumi siblings act as the early advantage combo. As Sagiri pursues her passionate art works, her brother, Masamune, supports her from behind. Sagiri allows you to check the top three cards of your deck with her combo, add a character card from among them to your hand, and pump one of your characters by an additional 1000 power for the turn.

As an eight bar climax deck, we will be making use of as many bar synergies as we can. Kuroneko is a free draw filter on attack if you have a bar climax in play. Kyousuke and Kirino are a level assist that more importantly gives level three Kirino a bar trigger icon.

An important mention needs to be made with Kuroneko above. She has a combo with the bar climax on the right that lets you reveal and add the top card of your deck to your hand if it is a character card and if you have two or more other characters on stage. More importantly, her second effect lets you pay her costs to turn your triggered climaxes into characters from your waiting room. When a climax is triggered, you may discard a card and rest her to perform a salvage effect.

On top of everything, we also have synergies with RESONATE abilities as shown above. Sagiri & Elf is a Rize profile on reverse that can pump itself power for the turn at the start of your climax phase if you resonate with the level one Sagiri combo. Muramasa is similar with its resonate ability also using Sagiri; however, she gets a much larger boost, and when she reverses an opposing character with a climax in play, you may search your deck for a character and add it to hand.

The supporting heroines are here. 1/0 Ayase on the left lets you shuffle back two characters on play to give herself power and the ability to twin drive. This can be used in conjunction with your level one Sagiri combo to shuffle herself back to fetch her again for the following turn. Kuroneko is a filter on play that lets you add the top card of your deck if it’s level one or higher and discard a card after. Furthermore, she is also a drop search as well. Lastly, Ayase in a wedding dress gains anti-backup abilities (for both backups and events) on the turn she’s played. She also lets you refund a stock from your waiting room if you have full field on play.

Kanako arrives at the scene, bouncing both herself and another friend if you pay her costs back to your hand at the start of your opponent’s attack phase. Ayase is a large beatstick that gains a level during your opponent’s turn if you meet her stock requirement. Furthermore, she’s a chaser runner.

One last synergy before we close up this post is shown with both Sagiri and Kirino here. Sagiri gains defensive power during your opponent’s turn, and at the start of your opponent’s attack phase, she can stand herself and the other specific Kirino shown here while swapping their positions. For a cheap discard cost, Kirino herself can spawn Sagiri from your waiting room. When Kirino attacks, she gains a large amount of power for each of your other characters. You can effectively use these two to mess with your opponent’s swings.

And that’s it for this lovely brother-sister pairing. Work with both Kyousuke and Masamune as they rehabilitate or deepen their relationships with their respective sisters. Keep those bar synergies in mind as you filter and mill through your deck, grabbing crucial pieces while retaining pressure on your opponent. Make sure to try and keep a level one Sagiri in your hand to make use of her resonate abilities. Sagiri and Kirino are a powerful force when combined, bringing their destructive and chaotic energies together. Will you be like Kyousuke or Masamune and help channel their abilities to disrupt and frustrate your opponent or simply fall short and lose to their 妹ポワ (imouto power) ❣ ❓
