Hololive – Akai Haato’s Revenge (R/Y/G) [10/26/2022]

Once upon a time, in a reality not so different from ours, an innocent girl by the name of Akai Haato entered the deranged career space known as becoming a V-Tuber. Upon meeting her fellow comrades in this chaotic universe, Akai Haato’s inner personality, chained due to the binding constraints of modern society, emerged from within the eldritch dark prison. Akai Haato became reborn as the one and only elder being, Haachama. Now living under her true persona, Haachama exists only to both plague and bless the human race with blatant destruction and unworldly cuisine.

Blessed be our twin-tailed goddess above. May her ribbons envelop the hearts of her followers, driving them to do her bidding in good faith. May their minds be forever warped to benefit our sublime lady. May this Australian beauty forever concoct her most delicious servings with her otherworldly charm. Praise to the infinite prism which guides our lady to her full fruition.

Akai Haato above is our goddess main finisher for the deck. Akai Haato has a very nice value combo that deals an extra bit of damage while maintaining hand advantage. Do keep in mind that she does require a full field for her climax combo. Additionally, whenever an ACT effect is used, she pumps herself by a large amount of power, making both on-turn ACT effects and backups quite deadly.

Adding to Haachama’s madness, we have the delightful Matsuri bringing summer joy to the deck. Matsuri freely adds hand by revealing the top with her climax combo and adding the card to hand if it’s a character or the Cigarettes event in the center. Just like our finisher Haachama, Matsuri gains enormous power on act use.

The backrow for this deck carries both the support of Rose and Matsuri here. Starting off with Rose, she’s a level assist with a unique ability to let you rearrange the top two cards once per turn whenever you use an act (choose one to leave on top, discard the other). This is extremely beneficial as this can help you dig through your deck and also gain information for your triggers. Keep in mind that this can be used during your opponent’s turn as well, turning your first backup into a deeper scry potentially. Matsuri doubles as your prime ACT enabler as a modular brainstorm or power pump (to level 1s and above).

Mel is a key piece of the deck, being able to generate potential extra stock when she attacks when an ACT effect is used. With a single ACT use, you can potentially secure at least your first Mel’s extra stock on-swing since the ability will proc on the level assist Aki to help you hopefully place a level 1 or higher card on top of your deck. Haachama is a power pump on-swing while being a Rize profile for climaxes on-reverse. Rose fixes your clock’s colours while acting as a salvage Riki profile when she’s sent to the waiting room.

Mel has a nifty shift ability on top of the ability to salvage a climax when played to field from hand for a cheap single stock, helping ensure your Akai Haato’s climax is ready for play. Our queen Haachama to the right has an interesting ability to nuke the board at the start of your attack phase (optional), leaving only herself alive on field and giving herself an on-cancel ping three ability. Furthermore, she has an innate ability to pay her costs on-swing to deal another two damage.

Our secret weapon above is this premium booster goddess. Befitting of Haachama’s personality, while we are on the brink of death, we can activate her finishing ability when she swings to deal an additional damage instance.

Backups are essential for this deck. The above are some of the best utility pieces to help defend your board and provide nice secondary effects. Mel is a Leafa counter from level 1. The Haachama in the center is a backup or alternatively, a secondary backup brainstorm in case you don’t find Matsuri. Lastly, the Haachama to the right is a rest counter if you pay her high hand discarding costs. If you are looking for just raw power alone, Aki Rose is another potential option.

As far as suggestions come, 0/0 Aki Rose is a great card to filter and fix your colours in clock. Mel can be a cheap way to potentially grab a card you’d like from the top four cards of your deck.

Remember that, although Mel’s ability is mainly used to gain extra stock when she swings, it can also be used defensively since the power works both turns.

Akai Haato and her wonderful zombie fanbase are a force to be reckoned with. Carrying both offensive and defensive power, Haachama and company are more than ready to take on any opponent, making them always fearful of any “ACT” based ability. Even the most powerful boards will shake in fear when Godchaama comes with her mighty swings and Haachama cooking.
