Fate Grand/Order – Queens of Heaven and Hell (R/G) [12/28/2023]

In the Sumerian mythos, Ishtar is the queen of heaven and in charge of love, war, and fertility. Her older sister, Ereshkigal, remains in the pits of hell as its queen. The two are constantly in bouts, jesting and fighting each other as they compete equally. Despite their harsh words for one another, the two remain as siblings nonetheless, sharing a sisterly bond that keeps them close.

Harnessing her mystical powers, Ishtar unleashes her divine wrath against your opponent. When she attacks with her climax in play, you may pay her costs to shuffle two cards from your opponent’s waiting room back into their deck and deal four damage to them. Keep in mind that the climax has another trigger if you wish to use it or as a mix with the two soul trigger above (shown below).

Eresh is the early combo with her adorable smile. On reverse with her combo, Eresh lets you perform a Cigarettes ability, salvaging a character to hand and milling your deck.

Her standby climax works perfectly with the Eresh support shown here. Eresh gives global power and can tap itself to grant a character additional power for the turn. Even if the standby trigger brings it rested, hopefully the global power alone will be enough to help you with securing Eresh’s reversals.

Other support cards to make sure Eresh gets the power she needs are shown above. 0/0 Eresh showing her dazzling self mills two cards on play and is a drop salvager. Ishtar pumps power when she swings and runs to stock when her damage is cancelled to give you more advantage. Lastly, Eresh on the right is a backrow support with a ton of different abilities. Firstly, you may pay her costs and tap her to prevent your opponent from using encore abilities this turn, effectively gatekeeping their waiting room (the underworld and on flavour). Alternatively, you may pay her hefty costs to salvage a character instead.

Some other standby targets are shown above. 1/1 Eresh happily showing off her dagger is a 7500 powered beater with hand encore. Ishtar is a beater during your turn that cannot be reversed by cost zero characters. Lastly, 3/2 smug looking Eresh lets you salvage a character on-play, but her more interesting ability lets you blind stock when she reverses any level two or higher character, helping you plus in stock for the following turns.

When it comes to firepower, no one comes close to the two queens of heaven and hell respectively. 3/2 Ishtar offers hand filter and a secondary finisher ability. 0/0 Ishtar is a coinflip bouncer that can also sack itself to grant you additional hand. 1/0 Ishtar is a climax discard salvager that also acts as a level one reverser. 0/0 Ishtar staring deep into your soul is a level zero reverser and a spammable hand fix salvage brainstorm. 2/1 Ishtar is a level three killer that also refunds you a stock from waiting room if your field is full. 0/0 smug looking Ishtar gains a marker from the top of your deck on play and is a free large beater if you do end up getting her marker.

Ascend hell with the blessings of Ereshkigal as you traverse the underworld towards the upper sky. Upon reaching earth, Ishtar will descend and be your guide, helping lift you up into heaven with her gentle touch. May the blessings of both goddesses be by your side.
