Priconne – Kashiwazaki Sisters Revisited (Y/G) [10/28/2022]

Shiori and Hatsune are back with even more support. Thanks to the release of the second set of Priconne, the Kashiwazaki sisters are blessed with more tools for their adventures. Using the strength of their bonds, the sisters can defeat any foe, assuming that Hatsune isn’t drifting away in slumber and Shiori can maintain her stature.

This is an update to a previous post of ours here.

Hatsune returns as our signature finisher. She can heal to stock for a discard cost on-play. Her combo with her climax allows you to choose a character at the start of your climax phase and give them the ability to pay two stock when they attack to deal two damage. Keep in mind that Hatsune must be in the front row to resolve this effect. With the new set, Shiori joins the fray as an additional card that combos with Hatsune’s climax. Hatsune gains burst power based on the number of your other characters, and at the start of your climax phase with Hatsune’s climax in play, you may blind stock the top card of your deck and salvage Hatsune’s finisher directly to hand.

Shiori is once again our early game combo. Hatsune is an Oboro profile with an added bonus. When she attacks with her climax, you must reveal the top card of your deck, and if that card is a character, you send it to stock. She still retains her bounce back ability as long as you play her climax even if you fail to add the stock. Shiori is pivotal to the deck as the deck’s main engine to both generate stock and maintain hand. Primarily, we will be looping her combo over and over again to prepare for Hatsune’s ending turn.

Familiar faces are returning. Shiori’s brainstorm on the left works solely with Shiori and Hatsune’s climax. She is a tap two brainstorm, but as a return, Shiori reveals five cards instead of the usual four. Additionally, she grants the player a free surveil trigger at the start of your main face. Shiori is Hatsune’s best partner for her finishing ability. During your turn, if you have a full field, Shiori gains a burst of power and protection from backup or event use, preventing her damage from being denied by most traditional defensive tools. Furthermore, Shiori carries a Musashi ability that can trigger on her own swing or if your opponent cancels the damage instance granted by her sister. Shiori also gained her own bonder with that of a new Hatsune card that also grants Shiori a trigger rearrange on swing.

Some more tools from the new set aid in either acting as pseudo combos or ways to help ensure that we can keep Shiori alive. Ninon on the left forcibly mills our deck and gains power when she does so for each character milled, but more importantly, she’s a way to bounce back our other characters on swing for the cheap cost of a single discard. In those off-turns where we aren’t able to generate stock with Shiori due to lacking a climax, we can still use Ninon to deal damage while bouncing Shiori back to hand, perhaps even with a bar climax we trigger. Ninon in the center is a smug way to reduce our opponent’s power in the front row on-play while simultaneously revealing and giving us information about the top card of our deck. She also gains power when a climax is played. Lastly, Peko is a stock charger to substitute for when we don’t have Shiori in hand. Keep in mind that Peko does require two experience for her ability.

Familiar friends return. Starting off with Hatsune, she’s a free runner and drop salvage profile to get our cards back from the waiting room. Rin is a Helmet profile that also provides a large burst of power to our center character. Lastly, Kokkoro is a Kazuma profile, perfect for digging through our deck and grabbing pieces for our combo.

As for backups, we still have the old Aoi backup, perfect for getting rid of our opponent’s cheated plays. Kokkoro is another possible addition as a memory counter now printed in green. She’s essentially a reprint of the old Yuuki counter but recoloured.

Other friends have come along to join the fun. Karin is a drop search profile to grab our pieces from the deck. Yuuki is a new climax swapper that is essential to ensure we can consistently loop our Shiori combo as much as possible. He has an additional power pump ability on play if you meet his experience conditions. Peko is a spawner profile if you have one or less other characters on the field when she swings. She works very well with the aforementioned Ninon as Ninon can bounce your other character to hand to enable Peko’s condition. Kuuka is a stock Adachi profile that has an expensive secondary ability to grant us a heal if need be when she’s reversed in combat. Chloe is a clock swap profile on-play that can swap any card. Aoi is a free handfix profile that can also blink our opponent’s cards to memory if need be.

Overall, our gameplan hasn’t changed from before. Shiori will be grinding out the stock and maintaining board while we wait for her sister’s arrival. When Hatsune finally enters the field, she will grant Shiori the magical power she needs to close out the game and attain us victory.
