Bunny Girl – Shouko Dreams of Bunny Girl (B/G) [10/07/2022]

Despite bearing a rather frail physical constitution, Shouko remains a glowing ball of optimism and energy, looking to spread her joy and kindness everywhere she steps. After meeting Sakuta and learning of his sister’s condition, she was more than happy to assist him in helping find a cure for her.

Shouko is an interesting finisher that is a healer from hand or when she’s played from your level zone. Her ability with her climax in play lets you scry the top three cards of your opponent’s deck and remove any cards if you’d like, a bigger Moca combo essentially. She also lets you scry your top trigger and gives herself an additional 2500 power for the turn. In essence, Shouko is simply telling your opponent to take damage.

In order to get spawn Shouko out from memory, the deck uses the following events above. The first 1/1 event (both arts for the event are shown here) sends itself to memory if it is not already there. It’s first effect swaps your level zone with Shouko. Secondly, it pumps power to one of your characters. Lastly, it has a recollection effect where when you level up and this card is in your memory, you may freely reveal the top of your deck and add it to hand if it is a character.

The second event on the right swaps the 1/1 event in memory with a 3/2 Shouko in your level zone while pumping that Shouko by 6000 power for the turn. Ideally, you should be sequencing these events together in order to minimize the heavy stock costs on Shouko.

In order to better help facilitate the combo, Sakuta above helps bond both events, the 1/1 and 3/1 events, to hand from the waiting room.

For the early game advantage, Shouko once again takes the spotlight. If you possess another character on stage, Shouko will gain an additional 1500 power on swing, which, when coupled with the climax will make her 7000 power base. Additionally, she’s a character salvage on reverse if you also have an additional 2 experience in your level zone (level 2 or higher card in level zone) while also pumping another character by 2000 power on reverse for more subsequent reverses.

As a bit of an incentive to play eight arcs, both Shoukos above give additional effects on their triggers. The first Shouko to the left is a global support that lets you redraw upon hitting an arc trigger. The second Shouko to the right is a level assist that carries the same ability as the support on the left with its redraw on arc trigger, but additionally, it can tap itself and boost one of your other characters’ power for the turn by 1000.

Some other Shouko cards that fit very well are shown above. Shouko on the left can search out a costless character equal to your level or lower, helping your recycle your level 1 Shouko combo easily. The Shouko in the center is a nice beater while being important to help ensure that your level zone is properly fitted with the needed experience for your cards. Lastly, the Shouko on the right is a burst power beater on your turn that has a nice ability to pay a stock and let you search your deck for any character you need upon reversing a level 2 or higher opponent.

Shouko has two great early play options that can be intermixed if you wish. The first early play on the left is a global power booster and a deck filter on play. The second early play on the right is an early play healer that also gains additional power during your turn.

Backups are not really suggested as Shouko functionally has little to no power during your opponent’s turn.

Shouko has quite a number of utility options. Make sure to fit your deck with various utility pieces to make use of the added hand from your events and arc triggers. Be wary of your green counts as well if you wish to make use of Shouko’s early plays. Shouko’s level 3 does a very good job as securing damage, as she can check and rearrange your opponent’s top deck and also choose her own trigger. To further help with your triggers, consider the addition of the Shouko in a dress as she can rearrange your top two cards of your deck on-play from hand. Shouko’s a force to be reckoned with, so build up your stock and prepare to support her!
