Nijigasaki – Rainbow Stage (R/B/Y) [07/01/2022]

Is there anything more beautiful than a shining rainbow dividing the clouds in the bright open sky? Traditionally, decks would try to avoid slotting multiple colours to add consistency and ensure that plays can be made. Typically, the general level where all colours exist are at 0 because level 0s ignore the colour rule or character backups. However, what if a deck were to be made that exists to take advantage of multiple colours.

This deck was suggested by booogf.

The deck’s premiere finisher is shown above with the every cheerful beauty, Ayumu. Ayumu is a healer that takes advantage of running multiple colours in the deck. With her climax to the right, when she attacks, she mills the top three cards of your deck and deals a single point of damage to your opponent for each individual colour milled (damage are single instances). As such, she highly encourages you to carry a multitude of colours in your deck building.

To pair with Ayumu, Yuu above is highly suggested as a combo that also thrives off of having multiple colours in the deck. For a single character discard cost, Yuu lets you potentially add up to three other character cards to hand, one for each colour (blue, red, and yellow), from the top four cards of your deck when she attacks with her climax in play.

To assist the deck and add to the theme of multiple colour usage, both the Ayumu and Ema above are highly recommended. Ayumu is great as a potential secondary combo outside of Yuu, performing a similar ability but with a stock cost instead (she also only checks up to three). Ema is a great way to hand filter, letting you discard three cards to grab one character card of each colour from your waiting room.

Furthermore, the deck has a nice search brainstorm in Yuu, which also functions more importantly, as a semi-changer at level 3 to bring out the level 3 Ayumu from your waiting room for free. Given Ayumu’s relatively high combo costs, Yuu is a huge blessing to have. Furthermore, Yuu is the early play target condition for her level 3 on the right. This Yuu is a global support while having a semi-filter ability on play.

Some other assisting cards in different colours are shown above. Kasumi can be substituted by Setsuna, but given that Kasumi’s timing is on play, and the deck runs three colours, Kasumi is arguably better for fixing your clock to allow active turn plays (though you can run both). Ema is a free stock charger on reverse if you play climax. Kanata is a nice climax discard outlet on top of a costless bottom deck reverser.

In terms of counters, there’s a plethora of options available. Kanata is a standard costless 2000 backup. Rina is a memory kick counter. Shioriko is a sack anti-change counter. There’s other options, and since you can play all the colours, feel free to mix and make changes as you’d like. Speaking of which, as for external suggestions, the sky’s your limit. Choose whatever you’d think would work best in supporting Ayumu and Yuu.
