Girlfriend Beta – Rise of Chloe (R) [06/30/2022]

Chloe Lemaire is the essential face and living definition of what it means to be a “professional Japanese foreigner” living in Japan. Assisting her fellow friends and clubmates, Chloe strives to be the best in her passions while maintain a certain beauty aesthetic that compliments her already existing delicate charm.

So what are the intentions or goals of our blonde haired beauty? Well, the answer is simple. We are going to decimate our opponent’s life total by burning them out as much as possible. Both Chloes shown above interact with the same climax to the right, letting them deal additional damage instances.

Due to the high costs of the Chloe finishers, the deck ideally finds ways to generate hand and stock without costing much advantage. Remi isn’t the most consistent way of getting hand, but she is an early combo that has a rather simple chance based way to gain hand advantage. Nonoka is an interesting utility card and an advantage engine. She acts as both a climax swapper and a forced way to salvage hand. Combining these two provides a relatively steady amount of hand.

Both Matsuris shown above are great ways to filter and ensure that your hand is fixed for the following turn or future turns. The Matsuri to the left has more power than the Matsuri in the center, but she comes at the cost of using her filter ability on swing with a red climax in play versus the Matsuri in the center’s filter on play. However, this does let her swap potential mill targets during the combat phase. Nase is a nice costless oversized beater, as long as you can meet her conditions.

Additionally, other potential options as other instances of damage or alternative finishers can be found with the Ichigo and Momoko shown above. These two can compliment your strategy or act as a secondary form of finish should the level 3 Chloe not be available.

One interesting option I want to add before reaching the end of this post is this oversized Chloe above. Chloe grows bigger with each of your other red characters on stage. Furthermore, she’s a pain to reverse if not defeated through battle since she cannot be reversed by your opponent’s auto reverse effects.

In terms of counters, they’re really up to you. Remi is an anti-early play sack counter, capable of knocking any early play nuisance into stock. Elena is a standard 2000 powered counter only for red characters. Ichigo is more flexible, but she’s weaker than Elena most of the time until level 3, but she can be used for any character should you choose to include other colours into your build.

Keep in mind there are two cards that make very good use of backups specifically in red should you choose to run backups. I’ll provide the hyperlinks to the Momoko and Haruka here.

Make use of your dual combos throughout the deck. Remember that there are up to four different cards that combo with your climaxes combined. Try to stall out the early game to stockpile for your late game with potentially three Chloes on the field. Keep in mind that her damage is variable, dependent on the number of climaxes you have in the waiting room. May Chloe’s sparkling passion guide you to victory!
