Bunny Girl – Valentine’s Queen of 2022 (Y/R) [02/14/2022]

Congratulations to all our voters, the winner of this year’s Valentine’s poll is Mai Sakurajima. The grand majestic queen descends in her set of Rascal Dreams of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume no Minai). Mai’s a beauty queen that has just as much personality to match her gorgeous appearance. Mai is not one to take lightly as she bears both looks and wits while presenting herself as a headstrong, powerful independent figure.

Just as she punishes Sakuta, Mai also dominates her opponent as she sends waves of snarky comments towards their life total.

The early advantage engine for the deck is found in the Mai combo pairing above. Mai gives a selective mill amount for the deck and lets you salvage an Adolescent (思春期) character from your waiting room whose level is equal to the number of Adolescent characters milled. The beauty of this combo is compared to other similar mill combos, Mai is generally much easier to accomplish and gives a larger selection choice most of the time since she checks number of characters milled rather than the combined levels of the cards milled.

Mai’s greatest asset, aside from her existence being the definition of perfection, is her flexibility and ability to constantly maintain hand advantage while grabbing cards needed for each situation. Mai has several tools like the the cards above in her disposal, allowing her to cycle cards for her needs at any time.

Coupled with an immense amount of burst power and field sustaining abilities, Mai is a formidable force to reckon with. Both the Mai to the left and center are beaters with additional conditional effects which can potentially be used in your favour depending on how you use them. The Mai to the right carries a “time machine” ability letting her act as a continual form of field damage until your opponent finds a way to permanently answer her.

Speaking of which, if Mai’s scolding words aren’t enough to fancy your ideal finish, the real finisher of the deck is on the left. The Mai on the left helps you potentially fetch a card you need while having a secondary finish ability to easily one shot your opponent. If that wasn’t enough, while your opponent is on death’s edge, you can easily finish them off with the Mai in the center that carries a cancel punishing effect. Furthermore, the Mai on the right is an essentially free 4000 powered beater with an initial condition that is only really detrimental if you play in my locals.

I need not to explain the value and purpose of this card. True Mai fans will understand it’s purpose just through the visual art alone. A quintessential core of any cultured Mai deck, there’s nothing that needs to be said. Just gaze upon this beautiful goddess and her most beautiful features.

Mai has no need for defensive power since Mai will simply recur herself anyway. But just for the sake of establishing supremacy and reminding your opponent that our goddess above isn’t afraid of showing off her power as well, the backups above are great choices if any are used. Just as mentioned before about Mai’s strength in flexibility, the backup to the left can even be used as a sort of bouncing shield to save one of your other characters. The backup to the center is another means to filter even more hand. The backup to the right is way to rid your any of your opponent’s higher level or cheated cards on field.

Declare dominance and show off Mai, the invincible bunny girl, to your opponents. Make them revere her out of respect for both her visuals and intellect. Mai has so many ways to maneuver your deck and filter for options. Make good use of her multitude of options. Praise be to our ultimate goddess.
