The “Musashi” Profile

Musashi is yet another profile term coined by another ship from Kantai Collection. Musashi generally refers to another finishing effect that provides an instance of damage when damage is cancelled. Keep in mind, Musashi’s effect is non-negotiable, meaning that the mill and ping is not optional.

The original Musashi was a card from the Kantai Collection series back in 2014. Musashi’s effect lets you mill the top card of your deck when damage is cancelled once per turn. Her effect would proc whenever damage on her is cancelled, meaning you cannot delay her effect for a different damage instance. Furthermore, the opponent would take damage equal to the level of the card milled + 1 (climaxes count as level 0). The mill is forced, meaning that you can potentially mill out your deck and damage yourself.

For an explanation of how the damage works, say, for example, your opponent cancels Musashi’s swing, then you mill a level 2 card off the top of your deck. Your opponent would then take 3 damage (2 from the card milled + 1 from Musashi’s effect). Furthermore, the effect states that once per turn when damage from Musashi is cancelled, meaning, say, if you were to assign a sort of ping effect to Musashi, if that ping damage was cancelled, Musashi’s effect would still proc.

In terms of newer Musashi profiles, not much has changed. Interestingly enough, all Musashi profiles still maintain the yellow colour. Additionally, compared to Musashi, they have a bit more flexibility. Musashi did have an original demerit where she could not side attack. This could often be a bit of a problem when trying to secure finishing damage. Other than that, Musashi is, in general, a great standard finishing effect. It is a costless finishing ability that always deals at least one damage minimum. Make use of this finishing ability and ensure victory.
