Fate/Grand Order – Two Pharaohs and a Buddhist Monk (G) [01/28/2021]

What do Xuanzang, a Chinese monk, Nitocris, a potential female pharoah, and Ozymandias, Rameses II, have to do with one another? Beats me. But what they can do is beat your opponent. Can Ozymandias and Nitocris work together to topple your opponent with the help of the carefree Xuanzang?

Our grand hero above acts as the finisher for this deck. Wielding his mighty Heqa Sceptre, Ozymandias rides into the front with his great pyramid to bombard his opponents and send them to clock on reverse while dealing residual damage after. Ozymandias is a solid finisher with a healing effect that does require a reverse, but with a marker, Ozymandias reaches 15000 power alone without any support and without calculating the power addition from the climax to the right.

As for how to get a marker under him, the card in the center accomplishes that while being a constant form of advantage throughout the game. Ozymandias requires a little bit more stock, assuming you are fielding out two or more of him. As such, the center card’s alarm effect can be used to charge stock to get Ozymandias out.

Nitocris pops into the fray to assist her fellow pharaoh. Xuanzang also has another bar combo that could be used to achieve hand. However, considering Ozymandias’ costs for his combo, Nitocris’ combo can be used to mitigate a bit of that stock burden. Furthermore, her ability to trigger twice is a nice addition to potentially netting another bar climax for the following turn.

The stock gained from Nitocris’ combo can in turn be funnelled into another character with the resonate ability of the Nitocris on the left. Furthermore, this Nitocris performs double duty as a constant means to exchange climaxes for characters (especially useful in conjunction with FGO/S87-033S-SR‘s double triggering ability). The Ozymandias to the right is a great supplementary backrow next to the Nitocris on the left. He provides all your Pharaoh (ファラオ) characters with clock encore (saving hand effectively) and the ability to swap triggered bars for cards form your clock (again super useful with FGO/S87-033S-SR‘s double triggering ability).

The following Xuanzangs above are two additional options that can be used to generate further stock or reduce hand costs. The Xuanzang on the left is essentially another way to net stock (blind), assuming you fulfill her conditions. The Xuanzang on the right is interesting with its on-play ability to essentially spawn two more copies of the Xuanzang on the left from your deck to field. She can be potentially fill three slots on your stage at the cost of one card and a single stock, which is extremely efficient. You can also try to ensure there are enough FGO/S87-037U in your deck with the shuffle back ability of FGO/S87-045C. Keep in mind that Xuanzang is not affected by Ozymandias’ clock encore effect (FGO/S87-031R) since she is not a pharaoh.

FGO/S87-035S-SR 心優しき魔術女王 ニトクリス

As for additional finishers and other late game options, the Nitocris above is a fantastic choice considering her early play heal ability without hand costs. Furthermore, she’s rather bulky, comes out early with a relatively easy condition, and has the pharaoh trait for FGO/S87-031R‘s ability.

FGO/S87-041U エジプト領の守護 ニトクリス

One final card I’d like to mention before proceeding to the end of this post is the Nitocris above. The level two slots for this deck are already quite full and competing with one another. However, this Nitocris is also an option to consider since she can be considered as a backup option to spawn FGO/S87-034S-SR in preparation for your end-game. Furthermore, she’s a decent backrow assist to your frontal level threes.

As for backups, it is entirely a player’s choice. Considering the backrow Ozymandias support, you may simply clock encore instead to preserve hand. Do make notice of the abundant climax discard support prevalent in the set and on many of the Nitocris cards. Bar climaxes that are triggered or in hand can be considered as potential hand swaps. Do keep note that Ozymandias’ backrow only supports pharaoh trait, a trait that Xuanzang unfortunately does not possess.
