Bang Dream! – Christmas Kasumi Poppin’Party (R) [12/22/2021]

Merry Christmas to all! Considering the timing of this article, I’ve decided to help brew up a structure featuring some Christmas cards just for the upcoming holidays. Without further ado, let’s get into the article, shall we?

What better combo to start off the deck than the combo shown above? Santa Kasumi has arrived on the scene, ready to bestow her gifts of merry cheer and joy to all. In a very simple sense, the Kasumi combo above lets you salvage the event in the center when it attacks and the climax on the right is in play. The event itself mills your deck and lets you salvage a Music (音楽) character or card with “Asuka” in its name equal or lower than the levels of the combined cards milled.

As for the finisher for the deck, since we’re running the BD/W54-064U event, why not use a finisher that also uses the same resource in some capacity? Upgraded Kasumi with more stars on her card than your average Christmas tree has arrived in the nick of time for the holidays.

Kasumi is a healing finisher that compliments the deck very well while making use of your aforementioned event. Furthermore, given that she gains power after her effect, it is quite possible for her to potentially recycle her finishing effect once more during your next turn, assuming that you meet her requirements.

To ensure that your combo is uninterrupted or to compliment your combo, the two above cards are recommended.

The healing Kasumi global assist to the left carries one very important effect to try and ensure your level three’s finishing effect has valid targets. Her third effect is great since it triggers off of any climax played, but more importantly, it mills your deck to try and drop the event in there while likely returning you hand.

While Saya is busy being married off, she carries one extremely important ability. Being a level assist is great on its own, but the ability to deny your opponent the ability to use backups or events during battle is something that just can’t be ignored. Even though the level three Kasumi’s effects trigger off before backups can be used, you can safely ensure that your first Kasumi’s attack cannot be interrupted in anyway, ruining certain counter-play strategies.

Some other suggestions that compliment the deck are shown above. Given the ease of getting cards in hand and the eight door triggers for the deck, the main concern for the deck is building up stock.

Demerits may sometimes actually work in your favour. And this is the case for the Kasumi to the left. Either you gain a free 4000 beater on the field, or you plus a stock that can be used to generate further advantage at the cost of one hand.

Now for the star of the deck, the center Kasumi lets you swap events in hand with those in your waiting room, letting you exchange your easily obtained BD/W54-064U for another event. This opens up many potential plays, especially if you can mill multiple options into your waiting room.

Lastly, the Kasumi on the right carries a Riki-like effect, but for this deck in particular, it can fetch any character considering all or most of your characters will fit the character parameters on the card. What’s a fun holiday gathering without your group of friends?

Big boss reindeer Saya has arrived in town and is ready to cause some trouble. Just look at her dual wielding prowess with the candy cane and confetti cone. She’s a very efficient early play that doesn’t cost hand, especially good since your level three combo requires discard for its effect.

Occasionally, your level 1 set-up may not be optimal, and you may not have the perfect set-up in hand just like the wrongly dressed Kasumi on the right. In such a case, this Kasumi may be a good back-up if you do not have your hand ready. She’s a serviceable beater that can also potentially net you hand as well.

Now, for what truly makes this deck shine. Since BD/W73-058C lets you essentially swap any event with an event in your waiting room, there are plenty of other potential options to play around with.

All the selections above either torment your opponent or push advantage for you in some way or another. The bread event on the left is an easy way to potentially punish your opponent for having excessive amounts of stock. The center event is great to potentially dish out a great amount of damage at 0 cost. Alternatively, it can just mill one of your events for your finisher which is still a win. Lastly, the event on your right lets you add any card you wish from the top four cards of your deck, ideally grabbing something that would be difficult to get in hand otherwise such as a climax or an event.

There’s quite a number of options to choose from when building the deck. Give the card pool a good look. As for backups, since almost all effects are during your turn, there generally isn’t a need for any power assist. If you wish to play backups for utility, I’ll leave the choice in your hands. Keep in mind if you do play BD/W73-062U, your backup should also carry the Poppin’Party trait. Do your best, and have a merry Christmas!
