Re:Zero – Emilia/Puck (G/B) [11/23/2021]

Emilia and Puck share a close bond of a master and her familiar. Wherever Emilia goes, Puck is bound to follow. Puck acts as Emilia’s protective guardian and close adviser. If harm does come to threaten Emilia, Puck will be the first act in her defence. Legends state that his true form is that of a gigantic beast with the power to freeze over the world.

The finisher combo is shown above. The Emilia is a healing finisher with two different finishing effects depending on the opponent’s field. If she directs with the climax on the right in play and you pay her costs, you may deal two damage to your opponent. If she beats over her opponent with the climax on the right in play, she sends that card to the clock.

There is another combo with RZ/S46-059RR. However, that combo works with a book trigger and carries different requirements. But on the plus side, that combo does not require a reverse. The combo above requires a reverse and specifically a green card to discard, however, it lets you discard bars as well to search your deck for two Magic (魔法) or Weapon (武器) characters.

The above cards are some decent options early to accompany the advantage combo. The Emilia on the left, RZ/SE35-P01PR, is a climax swapper to help you exchange your bars for the one you need. The center Emilia, RZ/SE35-33C, carries an effect where once per turn, if you use an activated effect, when this card reverses its opponent, you can blind stock the top card of your deck. RZ/SE35-09R is a bar discard outlet that helps with flooding. She can potentially exchange your bar for a card from the top of your deck upon reversing its opponent.

Some other cards to go along with the deck or fulfil the memory condition are shown above. RZ/SE35-01RR is a back-row supporter that provides power to a character until end of your opponent’s next turn if a climax is triggered. Furthermore, you may pay a stock when you play a climax to check the top four cards of your deck and add a single card with Emilia or Puck in its name to hand.

RZ/SE35-08R cannot stand during your stand phase if you do not have another character with Emilia or Puck in its name on your field. More importantly, you may pay one stock and send it to memory to check the top four cards of your deck and add a single Emilia or Puck to hand.

Lastly, the card on the right, RZ/S46-039U, is only used for its secondary effect. That effect is a drop salvage that send itself to memory upon being reversed, letting you salvage a single character with either Magic or Weapon in its trait.

These are some additional finishers for the deck that do not have any climax cost. This means that you can use them alongside your main finisher. The card on your left, RZ/S46-061RRR, can send any opposing card to memory upon reverse. Furthermore, when she reverses her opponent, you may pay her costs and spawn RZ/S46-075U from your waiting room specifically onto your field for another swing.

RZ/S55-P09SR lets you pay her costs and restand itself upon reverse. RZ/SE35-15R is a healing finisher that lets you burn your opponent for five damage when she swings.

As stated above, the target required by RZ/S46-061RRR is shown above on the left. This Puck gains a level and 2500 power as long as you control an Emilia on your stage. It comes with a demerit where when its reversed, it forcibly sends itself to the bottom of your deck. RZ/S46-077U is a 8000 powered beater with encore assuming you have a RZ/S46-075U on stage. Lastly, RZ/S46-087C is a draw filter that can help you discard and grab a specific card off the top two cards of your deck.

Some final suggestions are shown above. RZ/SE35-11R is a level assist which can also forcibly bring you hand while pumping up one of your characters by 1000 for the turn. The center Puck,
RZ/SE35-05RR, is an early play discard heal to stock.

The last card to the right is an event that mills your deck, adds you a character back to hand equal to the number of Magic or Weapon characters revealed, and pumps a character by 2000 power for the turn while sending itself to memory. Unfortunately, although this event does a lot of the deck, it cannot be searched making it a bit of a difficulty to get in hand.

Backups are dependent on your choice. If you choose to play RZ/SE35-33C, they can potentially be used to net extra stock during your opponent’s turn. The first counter on the left lets you hand filter off the top of your deck. This can be extremely useful when dealing with bar climaxes flooding in hand. The center counter is an anti-change sack counter which can be handy at both removing early play or cheated targets while denying a reverse. Lastly, the counter on the right is a free 2000 counter as long as you have an Emilia or Puck on the field.

Some final suggestions are provided above. The card pool for Re:Zero is pretty large. There’s bound to be all kinds of options and other tech choices to suit your style and needs. Keep in mind that you need to maintain both the name (Emilia/Puck) and trait (Magic/Weapon) requirements. You should also mind your colour ratios since your level 1 game requires a discard of green to generate advantage. Do you best and dominate the field with the power of Emilia and Puck’s bond!
