Gotoubun no Hanayome – Miku (B) [11/18/2021]

Miku is the third sister of the quintuplets. With a soft-hearted voice and gentle, yet strong personality, Miku is one of the first to open up to Fuutarou. Sporting her signature headphones on her neck, she now competes against her other sisters for Fuutarou’s hand.

The finisher for the deck are the cards above. This Miku is a healer that which when paired with the combo on the right, provides the character with two effects that can be done in any order if you its cost.

  • Mill the bottom two cards of their deck, then deal damage to your opponent equal to the number of climaxes milled.
  • Check the top two cards of your opponent’s deck, then you may discard any cards from that pair and rearrange the remaining cards back on top of their deck.

The damage is rather random as its determined by the state of your opponent’s deck and if there are any climaxes at the bottom of their deck. However, with the check top two effect, you could potentially eliminate any climaxes from the top and deal some significant damage.

For your early game, the following combo above is suggested. 5HY/W83-108HYR-HYR is large beater with consistent power based on all your other Quintuplet (五つ子) characters. Its combo lets you search or salvage a specific event, 5HY/W90-097SR, when its climax is played.

This card above is the target for 5HY/W83-108HYR-HYR‘s combo. It cannot be played if you do not possess a Miku on stage. When you play it, you may look at up to five cards from the top of your deck. Then you may add any one character with Miku to your hand and send the rest to your waiting room. Finally, you can scry the top card of your deck and leave at the top or send it to the bottom.

Miku carries some synergies with both arc triggers and event usage. Some interesting cards to compliment the deck are shown above. The Miku to the left, 5HY/W83-111R, is a beater with an interesting way to potentially net extra hand. During the turn that you use an event, she gains the ability to check the top three cards of your deck when she reverses an opponent and add any card to hand (the rest go into the waiting room).

The level assist Miku in the center only provides characters with Miku in its name with power. However, whenever you play an event, once per turn, you can check the top two cards of your deck and rearrange them, letting you set-up your triggers. When an arc climax is triggered, you may discard any card from hand and perform a clock swap effect.

The last card to the right, 5HY/W90-093C, is a global power boost with a secondary nifty effect. Whenever an event is played, you have the option of sending itself to stock, netting you further advantage if you wish.

Some other cards to consider to boost your late game are shown above. The Miku to the left is a searcher on play for any Quintuplet character. When she attacks, you may pay her costs to mill the bottom four cards of your opponent’s deck and deal damage equal to the number of climaxes milled. She then gains 1000 power for the turn. The Miku on the right is an early play heal if you have four or more Quintuplet characters on stage. She also gains 2000 power during your turn if all your characters have Quintuplet trait.

As for backups, they’re entirely up to you as a preference. Early in the game, most of your beaters aside from 5HY/W83-108HYR-HYR are too small to consider protecting most of the time. However, given that its combo does not require reverse, you can potentially recycle 5HY/W90-097SR for the following turn. The later game beaters are all your turn based meaning there’s little to no interaction or dependencies for opposing turn effects. You can alternatively use them for their secondary effects, dependent on your choice.

Miku does come with two brainstorms. Either option is fine as they are both tap-self search brainstorms. Do note that they do perform different functions as one acts as a secondary removal target whereas the other provides a power boost to all whenever an arc climax is triggered. Alternatively for a finisher, you can use 5HY/W90-083RR and its combo. Make sure to make use of your events and event synergies. Show your opponent the power of Miku and her headphones!
