In my past last run and build of Reinhard, I tried to compile him with the witches. It was an experiment I’d say the least. With the newest support of Vol. 3 of Re:Zero, I think I’ve finally gotten to a spot where I’d say I’m pretty satisfied with how he currently stands.

Here’s my boy, Reinhard. The hero clad in white, blessed and protected by the world, the living sword saint himself, Reinhard is the embodiment of perfection incarnate. However, Reinhard does come with one major downside. Reinhard must face adversity alone. If Reinhard is alone, he gains a paragraph of commandments which includes the following rules (abilities):
- Reinhard becomes immensely powerful (he gains 10000 power)
- Reinhard cannot be targeted by his enemies (hexproof)
- Reinhard cannot be reversed by petty tricks (he cannot be reversed by [A] abilities)
- Reinhard is not affected by reinforcements (your opponents cannot play backups or events during battle with him)
- Reinhard reflects all damage dealt (upon reversing his opponent, you can pay his costs to ping your opponent)
- Reinhard has unparalleled movement (he can run to any open slot in the front row of your stage at the beginning of your opponent’s attack phase)
To add to all of this, Reinhard has an innate bodyguard ability, forcing all opponents to face him in battle.

Little prim Miss. Felt makes a resurgence as the primary way to spawn Reinhard. By sacrificing the board, Felt calls upon the sword saint who descends from far above at her beckon. Upon his landing, the sheer force of his impact also deals a small point of damage to your opponent.

This is Reinhard’s deck, so we need to have Felt as was specified in the lore. He is her guardian knight after all. Felt’s combo is a little awkward and could be considered outdated in 2026. The problem is Felt is a reverse combo with absolutely no on-turn power. She also combos with a stock soul, which, while nice for the extra resource, contributes nothing in helping Felt get her reverses. However, once you get your first reverse, Felt performs a Minami combo but also grants another character power, making your second reverse with another Felt much easier.

There is also one other mini combo on the side that utilizes the same climax of Felt’s. 2/1 Felt over here allows you to refresh your deck for free if you have five or less cards in deck with the cost of sacrificing herself and discarding a copy of the climax. As a reward, you can search up to one copy of a character with Felt [フェルト], Reinhard [レインハルト], and/or Rom [ロム爺] in its name and add it to hand while also spawning 3/2 Felt on the right for free from your deck. Proud Felt in her classic dress stock charges from deck on attack and adds an expensive cancel ping ability on attack as well that you can provide to one of your characters.
Since Reinhard requires a hefty amount of experience, these two cards also help greatly in supplying the required numbers in your level zone.

With that being said, it’s time for the new cards. In order to make sure that we have the needed power to secure our reverses, we have Crusch on the bed here. Crusch is extremely important for two reasons: her first ability deducts power from an opponent while her second ability gives power to one of our Felt(s) on attack. Crusch basically acts as insurance to make sure that we hit the needed powerline to get our early game combo running. Furthermore, her power deduction ability can also potentially snipe front row slots, allowing us to push in for additional damage. Our second option is Felt on right, a new addition that has large burst power on our turn and allows us to salvage a character on reverse as long as we pay the cost of hurting ourselves.

What the deck excels at this time around is ensuring we have continual hand advantage. Anastasia steps up to the block as our only brick in the deck (she’s of Merchant (商人) trait) and fails any tutoring or salvage effect, notably not Crusch’s since she also checks for Merchant. Anastasia is an annoying level zero stock reverser and Aqua profile in one. Wilhelm is our backrow spawner that also acts as a nice early game beatstick that also mills. Lastly, our boy is here in white with Reinhard, a level zero monster with two very annoying abilities as long as he is alone of course. Reinhard gains massive cross-turn power and a level while also gaining the bodyguard ability, turning all your opponent’s level zero characters into soft-mush during their turn. As a turn one play, if your opponent doesn’t have a sinker or way to deal with him, he can effectively delay your opponent and/or often clean out their entire front row alone.

Finally, in the counter section, we have two important cards to note. The first is the somewhat infamous Priscilla counter which is a rest counter. Now, this counter is incredibly important with Reinhard because Reinhard has bodyguard. That means that your opponents will have to forcibly front into Reinhard, leading to you being allowed to use a backup. Priscilla, along with either the 0/0 Reinhard or our big daddy level three Reinhard will essentially negate a full lane’s attack guaranteed. Crusch, on the other hand, is mainly here for her filter value. Aside from being a backup, if she’s at the top of your clock, you can use her alarm ability to filter through your deck for free at the start of your climax phase.
As for some other supports for daddy Reinhard, we can begin with Al who acts as a cost zero stock reverser that also helps us filter our hand with top two cards of our stock. Priscilla is a powerful hand filter, letting you discard and draw up to three times. Chibi Felt returns as our brainstormer with an odd and rather rare gain ability with draw two, discard one for each climax hit. Smiling Felt is a standard mill runner for the early game. Typhon, a remainder of the old witch deck, stuns an opponent’s cheated backrow on attack and is a stock Adachi profile.
Daddy Reinhard’s back, and he’s here with a vengeance. Ram your opponent in with the power of Felt and her crew, preparing the way for the sword saint’s descent. Brace for impact as he slams onto the battlefield, his mere presence causing your opponent to shake in fear. And then, slowly finish them up on their turn as they’re forced to fight Reinhard in a fair one-on-one match.
