STAR WARS – The Jedi Order (B) [09/23/2021]

The Jedi Order exists to maintain peace and order across the galaxy. Warriors of the Force, they uphold values of truth and justice to protect and save the universe. Throughout the centuries, they have been at a long ever-lasting battle with their arch-nemeses, the Siths who wish to inflict the opposite of their goals.

SW/S49-096R “賢者の教え”オビ=ワン

The core main strategy of this deck profile is to set-up a defensive wall that inflicts damage to your opponent when they forcibly crash into the character above. The card above is an interesting wall-based finisher that provides the effect of dealing a single soul damage to your opponent when their characters’ crash into it. The card comes with its own solid protection to assign a character power which usually means itself making its conditions to beat your opponents’ board and whittle away at their life much easier.

To help ensure that the defensive strategy gets through, it is important to maintain field dominance. Supports such as the Yoda above aid in providing that much needed overwhelming power. However, this card also carries a much more valuable effect where opposing player’s backups and events cannot be used during battles involving blue characters in front of it. This effect is key as SW/S49-096R needs to remain on the field during your opponent’s turn. The anti-backup effect helps to greatly ensure that SW/S49-096R survives.

The combo above is the main advantage engine for the deck. The combo is a generic reveal top on attack and add to hand if the card is a blue character or the specific event, SW/S49-113U. The deck is mainly if not all blue and the event isn’t half-shabby overall for both power and hand filtering.

Your other combo is more likely than not going to be one of the two character combos above with their respective climaxes below. Each comes with their own benefits, so its entirely a choice based on your stylistic preference. The Luke on the left is a healer that re-stands with his combo while the Rei on the right carries a filter effect while leaving a -2 soul damage effect to characters in front of her with her combo.

Luke gives you healing while Rei can help you fetch pieces for SW/S49-096R. It is entirely up to you which one you choose or if you would like to mix or not. Keep in mind, both cards require SW/S49-113U as their marker for their combo effects to activate.

The options above make great complimentary cards to help maintain advantage for the deck early-on. The card on the left is a blue runner that heads to center during the opponent’s attack phase helping dodge threats if need-be. If it is alone in the front row, it is also a sizeable 3500 beater.

The center card is the deck’s tap-self brainstorm which only searches for blue characters. It’s first ability may or may not be relevant depending on the other slots in your deck, but it combos extremely well with the card on the right.

Speaking of which the Luke on the right carries a “clean-cut” type effect where if it reverses a character (during either player’s turn) and you fulfil its stock condition, you can choose another character, rest it and place it into your back-row. The card has the force ability which when paired with the brainstorm can turn it into a sizeable 4000 power beater without any other effects on the stage.

Lastly, I do suggest running some amount of backups because having that reversing power on your SW/S49-096Rs is so important to the deck’s main goal. Normally, event backups are not too encouraged due to lack of ways to get them in hand, however the level 1 combo for this deck is able to fetch them and there is a bond that exists for the card in SW/S49-098U.

I’ve provided some further suggestions above. The deck hopes to set-up and maintain field control at level three. SW/S49-096R is a very powerful card that forces your opponent to think twice about how they swing into the character. The nicest part is the damage effect is completely free of charge as long as the character reverses and you meet the conditions. Try and make sure that most of your deck if not all contain blue cards as many conditions state there is a need for blue characters present on stage. Good luck and may the force be with you.
