Monogatari Series – Fire Sisters (R/G) [08/12/2021]

Karen and Tsukihi are loveable younger sisters of Koyomi Araragi. They enjoy nothing more than teasing and annoying their older brother while being treasured and beloved by him.

Karen acts as the main supportive role for the deck with cards that are used to assist or protect Tsukihi. Tsukihi acts as the mainstay fighter with advantage based effects as well.

NM/S24-047SP-SP 不死の怪異 阿良々木月火

The card above is the ultimate goal of the deck. Tsukihi has a very powerful effect where whenever she is reversed in battle, once per turn, she simply returns to a resting state. This means ultimately the only way to remove her in battle is to reverse her twice with a re-standing effect, assuming you reverse her the first time. She also comes with a built in three soul damage meaning on your turn, she will be either dealing large heavy blows of soul damage or siding for some significant amount as well.

Keep in mind, it is important to note that NM/S24-047SP-SP costs a hefty amount of stock to play onto the field. There is an alternative way to cheat her out thanks to the card above. Ideally during level two, you’d have at least one of this card out and during the encore phase, you pay the cost and bring NM/S24-047SP-SP onto the field.

To help further the main goal, the combo pair above helps in gathering advantage. Tsukihi is a pretty sizeable beater in her own right. Her combo lets you pay a single stock and discard a card when she swings to salvage up to two different Wafuku (和服) characters to your hand, essentially filtering a card and netting you another card.

The other suggested combo lies in the pair above. The Tsukihi on the left is quite situational, but she does get rid of any opposing troublesome cards. Her effect is expensive considering your stock costs at level 2 as is, but it does help in maintaining field control. The more important fact about this combo pair lies in the climax’s trigger itself helping you gain more hand.

As mentioned before, Karen cards act more as a supportive frame for Tsukihi. It is important to mention that Karen cards are of the Sports (スポーツ) trait making them impossible to fetch from the NM/S24-046RR effect. The Karen on the left is a strong support that provides a global 1000 power for all cards with Tsukihi or Karen in this name. Additionally, you may rest it and choose a Tsukihi or Karen character from your waiting room to place underneath as a marker. The marker can then be used as a substitute stock for a CHANGE effect.

The center card is the other level three in the deck. This Karen is an 11000 powered beater as long as you have at least two Strange (怪異) characters on the stage (every character in the series is that trait). Its more important effect lies in its secondary ability. During your opponent’s attack phase, you may discard a card and swap this card with another character and stand this card with an additional 2000 power boost. Essentially, you can use this effect to protect NM/S24-047SP-SP and other more important cards from harm while potentially beating up your opponent’s cards.

Lastly, the final card is the Karen on the right. This is a generic CHANGE card that lets you pay two and send it to the waiting room to swap it with NM/S24-027SP-SP from the waiting room. You can reduce the CHANGE costs with the marker from MG/S39-037U.

Another way to defend Tsukihi is through the card above. For the colour red specifically, this counter exists which provides an additional 1000 power when used. This makes it essentially a free 2000 power backup for any red character.

A glaring problem with the deck lies in its inability to mill effectively. The two cards above remedy the problem. The left event lets you shuffle both players’ waiting rooms into their libraries effectively refreshing both players. Depending on the situation, this may be quite helpful in trying to sink soul damage in. The card on the right offers some slight power to the character in the middle position of the front row, but it is more important for its ability to be a spammable power pump brainstorm, effectively helping you mill out.

As always, I’ve left some other suggestions for the deck above. Keep in mind that Tsukihi’s combo, the NM/S24-046RR only works with Wakufu characters. Make sure to keep an eye on your ratios when you build the deck. Good luck and may the invincible phoenix aid you.
