Hi, my name is CigiDooDooPooPooFace (yes, that is my official name). I decided to build this unit because they’re just like me fr fr, sad and depressed (I’m kidding, they’re cool). Despite being identical twins to my brother, my mom thinks I’m significantly uglier than him. To make matters worse, when I was in elementary school, I was picked 15th place in twelve-man games. I joined Weiss Schwarz because I was bullied into it I love anime more than anything else in this world.

Ena’s innocent outlook betrays the complex emotions she bears on the inside. From the visuals of her cards, it is evident that she struggles to convey her thoughts and bring them into reality. It appears as if she had partaken of the cursed apple from the famous children’s tale, luscious and beautiful to the eye, tempting with its forbidden juices, promising to bring sweetness but hiding an equally potent poison. It is a symbolic visualization that describes the feelings of this tortured artist, unable to truly depict the secrets hidden in her heart yet yearning to bring about true beauty into this distorted world, a fruit, though innocent in its appeal, yields both fangs and beauty alike.
It is interesting that both Ena’s finisher and her climax are direct parallels of each other. It is as if her finisher appears to be like Snow White before she had bitten the forbidden fruit and the climax is her aftermath. Regardless, Ena allows you to spawn another character from hand for free on play while letting you pay her costs to deal two damage and shuffle back up to two cards into your opponent’s deck with her attack with her climax.

In the early game as well, Ena takes on the spotlight. As long as you have a card in memory, Ena will gain 3000 additional power during your turn. This is important because Ena is an on-reverse combo with her climax, letting you discard a character when she reverses her opponent to let you search your deck for any two characters to hand. She’s essentially both a filter and a hand generator at the same time.

Mafuyu’s visit into the alluring, yet mysterious and empty void of the universe between our world and the next reflects the inner turmoil that dwells deep in her heart. While this space is meant to represent her own imaginations and depictions of the world in a place where she can find solace, in the grander scheme of things, this world reveals far more about our own than it visually shares. There is both beauty and complexity in the lack thereof. Nothing itself is a statement that conflicts with existence, acting as its foil. For if we were to comprehend what that exists, we must also bear witness to its polar opposite.
Perhaps this subliminal space where time is frozen where Mafuyu visits represents far more through its lack of anything. It is in this space where Mafuyu is alone, unrestrained from responsibilities and worldly desires. Mafuyu’s question of “where” is in itself an oxymoron. Mafuyu appears to be lost, but it is in this seemingly unnatural world where she finds herself comfortable and at home. Mafuyu’s feelings of confusion and loneliness are not conflicts that she faces alone. In the real world, many find themselves resonating with Mafuyu’s thoughts and struggles. Despair is more of a commonality than you might think.
Yet this space is familiar; it is somewhat relaxing. That is because it is in this place where there is complete openness where we are free and unattached from the world of the living where we can truly process our own thoughts. It is here that we find tranquility and a break from the real world. We can be become our true selves and let out that pent-up stress that has been building within us. One can be alone but not necessarily lonely. And often, we neglect the need to give ourselves some space unrestrained from others. It is here that we build confidence in ourselves and truly come to terms with our own surroundings.
Mafuyu fulfills the memory requirement needed for level one Ena. By sending herself to memory, you can check and add a character that is level one or lower from the top three cards of your deck. In addition, while in memory, you can pay her costs at the start of your climax phase to choose a climax in hand and sent it to waiting room and salvage a climax with the same climax icon to hand.

There’s nothing more fitting for this strange universe in the middle of reality and the unknown than that of virtual singers. At first, it sounds like an awkward match, but when you consider how Vocaloids interact through a combination of human talent intermixed with technology, they make sense as a perfect hybrid that exists within this subliminal space. With vocals that are a stretch to say entirely human but maintain a touch of human origin, they perfectly surf the worlds in-between finding familiarity in its oddity.
Rin is a stock charger for the deck, letting you net additional stock off her attack if you have a climax in play and if the card she reveals on attack is level one or higher.

Being close to the void makes you tether on the quality of existence. You are continuously bound by a trance state in which you are neither alive nor dead. It is as if you are neither and more akin to some ethereal being in this space between worlds, seeking and constantly learning, untainted by the bindings of the old world. In regard to this flavour, the members of Nightcord at 25:00 possess many synergies when they enter the waiting room.
MEIKO is very useful for forcing this interaction should your opponent not oblige your board’s offerings. MEIKO is a drop search whose costs involve sacking a character on your field which will trigger their abilities. Mafuyu is a searcher when sent to waiting room, costing no stock but requiring you to clock a card from hand. Kanade is a standard Fukaziroh profile that also has a neat scry ability when sent to waiting room, helping increase your odds of filtering into cards you’d like.

In the backline, Mizuki holds ground as your support and brainstorm. Mizuki’s brainstorm on the left debuffs one of your opponent’s front row characters by 1000 power whenever you trigger an arc climax trigger, perfect for helping Ena with her reverses. Mizuki on the right gives global power and also climax filter, letting you discard a card and salvage a Nightcord (25時、ナイトコードで。) character while also giving one of your characters power and a level for the turn.

In defense, Ena and Mafuyu take charge to protect their friends. Ena can pay a heavy cost to salvage a character from your waiting room while you use her backup. Mafuyu is a costless counter that can save a lucky friend given the right situation.
Before we enter the in-between space shared by both the world of the living and that of dreams, we must look at some assisting cards to the Nightcord girls and Mizuki. Beginning with all the band members together, the group photo card is a way of ensuring we fulfill the memory condition for 1/0 Ena. When it’s played, you can pick and send a level zero Nightcord character to your memory from waiting room if you have two or less memory. Miku among the sakura petals is a level three killer that also bounces back to hand when damage during her battle is cancelled. Kanade using her pen gives you a top two rearrange from the top of your deck and also a draw and discard ability. Ruka is a payoff if you have a board of only Nightcord characters, being a level one, 3000 powered chaser to take down your opponent’s cards. Ena with her devilish grin is a coinflip bouncer that checks for level one or higher cards, perfect for this deck as its looking to limit its level zero counts.
Cigi: This was the best 5$ I ever spent. (for this post)
