The “Yunyun” Combo / The “Joker” Combo

Yunyun is a cute adorable sweet girl who desires nothing more than to make friends to go on adventures with. In contrast to Yunyun’s personality, the Yunyun combo is a hard-hitting advantage combo, relying upon reverse as an initial condition and providing valuable resources as a reward.

Yunyun is a reverse combo that supplies two major benefits: extra stock and potential hand. Despite being rather random with its hand gain effect, decks that played Yunyun would play a larger amount of level 1 or higher cards, making it much more likely to gain extra hand from Yunyun’s combo. Yunyun herself is rather large for a combo piece, sitting at 6000 power without the reliance of her climax.

Yunyun herself was amazing during her time in the spotlight. The extra power she carried on stage made her a nuisance to deal with. Furthermore, the ability to gain extra stock and potential hand pushed the player further ahead than the standard Shimakaze combos running around during her debut.

Newer versions of the Yunyun combo are more exact in their ways of gaining advantage. Compared to the original Yunyun, the newer versions usually let the player choose the card they wish to place into stock. The random hand advantage gain remains still. Regarding power, all Yunyun profiles have large amounts of burst power, but when it comes to the defensive side, it can vary widely.

Another profile similar to Yunyun can be found in the “Joker” profile shown above. Although costing a stock, Joker profiles come with the benefit of having a higher level and providing two different more guaranteed forms of advantage. However, since Joker costs stock, it may be a little difficult to field more than a copy or two in the early game.

Although not exactly the first of her kind, Yunyun above here has a pseudo newly improved version of resource gaining. While not retaining the extra stock aspect from the original “Yunyun”, this Yunyun gains up to four extra hand from a single combo, making her an easy way to net large amounts of extra advantage. The downside is that this Yunyun is easily countered as your opponent simply needs to focus on stopping her single reverse. However, there is no denying the general efficiency of this single card combo for the trade-off of one stock. There is yet a community name for this type of combo.

Yunyun and other affiliate combos here are quite powerful if they do happen to go off. Compared to the standard combo of only providing one type of advantage, Yunyun can grant both stock and hand at the same time, an advantage any deck would enjoy. The downside of the combo lies in the fact that it requires a reverse, meaning you must ensure that Yunyun has both a target to beat over and the power to beat over them as well. Charge through your opponents with Yunyun to ensure that you have the resources and maybe a bit extra for your late game.
