Slime – Nameless Story (Y/B) [08/10/2022]

The invincible king Rimuru is the most powerful being in the universe. A humble slime transformed into a god through self improvement and skill, Rimuru reincarnates from his former self into a divine being while helping his comrades and friends along the way.

Rimuru is the head finisher of the deck. When Nameless Story is played, Rimuru gains the ability to transform himself into another Magic Continent (魔大陸) character from your waiting room, including another copy of himself. This can be done as many times as you can afford the costs, potentially allowing you to restand Rimuru up to four times with three other copies of himself either in hand for discard or in the waiting room.

Shion is the early combo of choice to salvage hand. Shion’s a large beater that grabs you a target from your waiting room. Clean and concise.

Old man Hakurou is a key piece of the deck, acting as both a level assist and way to grab any combo piece to hand. Keep in mind that the markers that Hakurou builds underneath himself can only fetch a yellow card. Use him as a cheap way to get your finisher or climax to hand.

Rimuru is a great card to net extra stock for the rather expensive end game combo. Furthermore, since his ability activates on ACT effects, backups are great options to both protect him and generate extra stock. Ramiris is a great value card to spawn out a cost 0, ideally either the Rimuru to the left or Shion to net more extra advantage for the turn.

Shion is the early play of choice, mainly for her stock heal ability. Chloe is a nice addition to the blue colour to filter hand, potentially even netting a climax from her check and add ability. Shizu is a great climax swapper with a nice scry ability on attack to potentially push for a climax trigger.

Backups are great for the deck, thanks to the 1/0 Rimuru generating value upon reverse and backups having ACT abilities on use. Ranga is a great free 2000 power backup. Shion is a nice “free” 2000 backup, replacing the stock used with stock from the top of your deck. Either option is nice, but do keep in mind that Shion does come with a soul trigger. Lastly, Rimuru is a great option to get rid of your opponent’s early plays without costing extra stock.

Make use of Rimuru’s god powers to manipulate your field and maintain board presence. Use Shion and Ramiris to continue to generate value for your end game combo. Try to generate as much stock as possible to get to your end game combo and bring out Rimuru four times.
