The “Jintsuu” Profile

Personally, I believe the following card effect is one of the most powerful card effects in all of the game. I generally also find the effect under-printed and less available in newer sets. That effect of course is what I will consider or call the Jintsuu-type card.

KC/S42-038U 祭りの最中 神通改二

The card effect searches your deck and grabs you any climax you wish that supports your situation. Being a character card too makes this card easier to obtain to hand compared to an event card such as GC/S16-096U. Having access to this ability lets you optionally grab the climax needed for a current or future combo. More importantly is this card’s ability to start its effect from the early game as a level 0.

Grabbing a climax is an extremely powerful effect because of the innate ability for climaxes (aside from standby) to push for damage. What this means with the card above is that whenever your opponent may possibly be in a state with a low amount of climaxes in their deck, you may use this card to forcibly slam out extra damage and “punish” your opponent. Alternatively, you can use this card as a way to flush climaxes out of your opponent’s deck and push them into an undesirable state.

Several other similar effects also persist in other cards. I’m not entirely sure if the Jintsuu mentioned above is the only card of its profile without any clones. However, Shirou to the left is able to fetch a climax from the waiting room as can Kirito the center. Many versions of the Kokkoro to the right exist that can potentially fetch you a climax off the top x cards of your deck.

However, Jintsuu seems to be the most consistent climax grabber comparatively to the options above. Coming at level 0 means that as early as your second turn, you can immediately begin grabbing climaxes to slam at your opponent. Having this early potential also allows for more flexibility in early game combo choices, meaning with Jintsuu, the idea of running multiple level 1 combos may not be a bad idea.

Regardless of which, what do you guys think? Do you know of another card that has this similar profile? How do you feel about the effect?
