SAO – Manliest Man Deck of Man’s Time (B/Y) [12/22/2021]

There is nothing more powerful than the circle of testosterone. A fellowship born from the depths of raw masculinity, the manliest deck consists of members drawn together by friendship, camaraderie, and a desire to maintain a brotherhood that transcends time itself.

And as you’d probably expect, this deck is exactly that, a deck full of manly dudes.

Powered by the bond between him and his brother, Kirito dawns two blades as he slashes through his opponent. Just as his effect implies, the goal is to blow through your opponent and potentially win the game through eight points of straight effect damage. As such, ideally by the time you prime Kirito’s effect, your deck should be filled with soul triggers.

In order to promote Kirito and help him accomplish his goals, he requires support from his bros. The recommended options above help to provide advantage throughout the game and to aid Kirito with his effects. The Agil on the left has a rather punishing demerit, however, more importantly, his second ability shuffles two potential triggers back into the deck for Kirito’s finishing effect. This Higa in the center draws out a cost 0 Kirito using his power of friendship from the waiting room, allowing you to save hand and make more interesting plays. The Asuna and Kirito to the right (maintains bro energy due to Kirito in name) accomplishes a similar effect while letting your spawn any character from your waiting room that’s cost 0 instead.

Unfortunately, sometimes the finishing Kirito doesn’t close out the game. But that’s not a problem. Wielding bro-mance in his powerful left arm, the Kirito above channels the full energy of his brothers-in-arms and slashes his opponent once more. His condition requires you to be at exactly 3/6 and only one point of damage from death. But Kirito revels in the face of danger. That is where his power peaks.

If for whatever reason your opponent cannot push you to 3/6, cards like SAO/S80-022C can be used instead to push you towards Kirito’s pivoting moment.

As you may have noticed, the deck does come with conflicting traits. However, no hurdle cannot be overcame in the face of Kirito and his crew of muscular men. This Kirito on the left allows one to simply draw and hand fix characters to hand, letting you draw what you need and filling your waiting room further with more targets.

And what better cards to gain from his effect than the two events listed in the center and right. The one in the center shows our kind hero’s gentleman respect and is essentially a free hand swap and stock charge. Meanwhile, the event on the right ensures that your Kirito is equipped with his Night Sky Sword.

As for advantage combos, the climaxes themselves are paired with other cards that provide a plethora of effects. All three can be played in various ratios and all wield some form of way to push your advantage further. The Kirito to the left gives a nice ability of letting your center character choose its trigger off the top two cards of the deck when it attacks. Additionally, it is a way of adding a Fluctlight (フラクトライト) to hand through its climax ability.

Even in spiritual bro form, Eugeo still looks out for his kin. Our helpful boy in his center wraps Kirito with his ethereal embrace, assuring him that even though his physical form may be gone, his bro-mance will live on while charging extra stock on reverse with his combo. Meanwhile, Kirito on the right, lets you remove a cost 0 on your opponent’s side of the field upon reverse with his combo.

Given the rather mixed traits throughout the deck, one way to alleviate concerns and retain hand is through the card shown above. This card is essential to the deck considering its ability lets you check and add any character when its sent to waiting room from the top three cards of your deck, essentially ignoring any trait requirement.

“Good boys use good protection.” – Me, 2021.

Kirito is always covered and backed by his friends. They are always at his side whether online, offline or in digital heaven. As such, the following options above are potential backups to assist your deck building.

Kirito carrying his digital fairy daughter is a free 1500 backup to any Avatar (アバター) or Net (ネット). However, when he’s played from hand, he can spot a bro and grant an Avatar (アバター) or Net (ネット) character an additional 1000 power. Both Agil and Eugeo accomplish the same purpose but with different costs to rid a cheated out or early-played target from stage. The Black Swordsman is never truly alone.

Remember, boys are never alone. The gang always has each other’s back and are willing to lift each other up if need be. Hardships are shared, and gains are for all. Keep in mind the traits on certain cards as those effects may or may not be relevant depending on your build. I’ve given some other suggestions above on what to add potentially. Have some fun, add in some more boys, and maybe even try out the SAO/S47-096C re-standing dream. The world is your oyster, so pick up the gang and see what you can come up with.

**Keep in mind that this is a boys only club. No girls allowed.**
