Danmachi – Hestia Status Update (B/Y) [12/06/2021]

Periodically, to measure the power and growing strength of her beloved guildmate, Bell Cranel, Hestia checks up on his body to record and examine his statistics. In this deck, events are used to garner advantage and overwhelm your opponent.

This Hestia above, when she attacks and is paired with the climax on the right, lets you choose the event in the center and place it into memory. The event itself lets you filter any Familia (ファミリア), Guild (ギルド), or Goddess of Fertility (豊穣の女主人) character from hand, bounce the the event from memory to hand and check up to the top four cards of your deck and add any of those same traits to your hand. You can consider this combo a delayed form of getting hand advantage. Keep in mind that this effect is not once per turn, meaning that you can send several to your memory to mass exchange hand the following turn.

The final goal of the deck are to bring out the Hestia above. This Hestia is a discard hand to stock healer. When she combos with the climax to the right, she gains a soul and when her damage is cancelled, your opponent takes two damage (damage can be cancelled). It is an efficient combo that has no costs.

To aid in helping Hestia deal more finishing damage, the above pair is suggested. When the Lily on the left is played on stage, during that turn, she can side attack without any penalty which may help to avoid any backup usage. More importantly, when she swings, you pay her costs and discard the Lily on the right to provide one other character with the ability to deal one damage when their damage is cancelled. When combined with the Hestia previously mentioned, you can potentially ping out their climaxes and leave solid damage into their clock.

The Lily on the right helps in maintaining hand advantage possibly at the start of your opponent’s draw phase when it potentially bounces itself back to hand. Furthermore, its first random effect can be used to potentially net you extra hand and to draw into events for the level 1 combo.

The card above is very highly recommended as it is a straight up bonder to the event required for the level one combo. By discarding any Familia, Guild, or Goddess of Fertility character, you may search your deck directly and add the specific event to your hand. Furthermore, she is a bottom deck reverser for any level 0s.

To aid and provide advantage with the use of events, the above cards are suggested. The Hestia to the left is a tap self search brainstorm that grabs any Familia, Guild, or Goddess of Fertility characters to hand. More importantly, whenever you play an event, you may draw a card and discard a card, letting you filter through your deck.

The center Hestia lets you potentially filter and add an event when she is played from hand to stage off the top three cards of your deck. Furthermore, she can be used to stop a character from your opponent’s stage from moving for the turn.

Lastly, the Hestia on the right sends itself to stock whenever an event is played. Furthermore, you may tap her to empower one of your Familia, Guild, or Goddess of Fertility characters by 1000 power for the turn.

Some other interesting cards to consider are shown above. The Hestia blinks any character to memory potentially removing any of their on board effects. Furthermore, by paying her costs, you may force your opponent to refresh while leaving out a climax of your opponent’s choice out of their deck. Depending on the situation, you may use this to put your opponent in a very inopportune position.

The center Ais and Hestia help to improve the yellow count of the deck while letting you filter off the top cards of your deck in hopes of drawing what you need. It can sack itself to bring out a level 3 Ais, which is up to you to run dependent on your build.

Considering the deck is eight pants, running the Tione on the right is great as you can swap to the climax you need for your situation. Furthermore, you can use her to potentially clutch you out of situations when your colours may be awkward.

One final card I would like to introduce is the level assist above. More importantly, its second ability allows you to provide one of your characters with anti-event or backup use when you play an event for the turn. This can be extremely helpful in securing damage with the level three Hestia finisher. The idea is to either side or direct with the Lily level three, provide its effect to a finishing Hestia, and then swing with the Hestia that’s protected by this Eina above to ensure that there’s no interruption.

Considering that most of the deck’s cards are based upon your turn or burst power, backups don’t really provide much of any defensive power effect most of the time. However, they can still be used for their utility functions. The Hestia backup on the left works very well with the deck to get rid of any potential cheated or early-played threats. Considering the amount of hand you’ll be gaining per turn with the combo, discarding extra hand to handle a troublesome card is worth the trade. The Bell backup simply lets you check the top of your deck and either leave it there or send it to the waiting room.

It would be an interesting build to fit other events into the deck, but it is important to remember that the Bell event only checks for characters making it less likely for you to gain hand from its return effect if you do run more events. Remember, the Bell event is recyclable, meaning that if you have the combo again, you can feel free to use it once more to possibly gain more hand the following turn. Beat your opponent down, and then secure victory with Hestia and Lily’s cancel damage punish.
