Toaru Series – Judgment (G/R) [10/17/2021]

Within the mysterious and dangerous Academy City, there exists a disciplinary force that works to expel the shadows, Judgment. Judgment is composed of students whom work alongside the adult force of Anti-Skill. They are signified by their green and white striped armbands carrying a shield in its center.

For the purposes of this deck structure, Saten will be considered a sub-member of Judgment even though she bears no Disciplinary Commitee (風紀委員) or any traits whatsoever. Many Saten cards work very well in conjunction with another member of Judgment, Uiharu.

The finishers for this deck structure do not require any sort of climax combo. RG/W13-052RR is changeable healer that has a nice of effect of paying a cost on its attack to empower itself and deal a single soul damage upon reverse that can be cancelled. RG/WP03-02SR is a re-stander that empowers another trait-less or Esper (超能力) by 2000 power other than itself (your choice) when she swings. Keep in mind, her restand condition does not require reverse and works whenever the cost is paid. You can use her power ability to ensure that RG/W13-052RR gets enough power to trample over its opponent.

In terms of netting early advantage, there are two combos available. Neither combo is free, costing a single stock upon activation for the hand gaining effect.

RG/W10-026RR comes with higher power assuming you fulfil her condition. She lets you check the top three cards of your deck and add any Judgment or character with Saten in its name to hand if you pay her costs when she attacks. She combos with RG/W10-048CR below.

RG/W13-061U lets you pay her costs when she swings to salvage any character from your waiting room to hand. She combos with RG/W13-075CC below.

As for the other combo, a suggestion is provided above. RG/W26-067U is an early game changer that changes into RG/W26-058SP-SP. RG/W26-058SP-SP is a hand filter when it enters the stage from hand or CHANGE. When RG/W26-078CR is on stage and RG/W26-058SP-SP swings, you may salvage two Esper characters and discard a card from hand. The combo is used as a means to set-up for your later game, plus the climax is a on a gate which is a nice way to recover hand.

RG/W10-030R 水着の固法

A very interesting card that only works for this archetype specifically is shown above. If you control at least two or more Judgment characters, this card gains the ability to blind stock charge off the top of your deck whenever it reverses a level 1 or higher character. Keep in mind that this effect is continuous, meaning that it will work on your opponent’s turn as well. Considering the heavy costs of RG/WP03-02SR, this card is very good to prep for the later advantage.

Some of the key cards for the deck are shown above. RG/WP03-03SR is your main way of filtering hand, maintaining hand advantage and empowering your character. This card is extremely important for the deck since it is also one of the only ways to add Saten to hand since it checks for both Esper and specifically Saten.

RG/WP03-04SR is an interesting option that can deter your opponent’s swings. It works on both offence and defence as it allows you to sacrifice your lower powered cards to power up your other cards. It’s secondary effect is rather costly, but it reliably nets you what you need in both Esper traits and specifically Saten.

RG/WP03-01SR is the brainstorm for the deck. It allows you to power one of your cards by a level and 500 power when you play a climax. It is a standard search brainstorm.

Some other interesting options are provided above. RG/W26-042U lets you freely clock climaxes without fear of getting them back, or if you coincidentally have a climax in your clock, you can use its effect to swap it into your hand. You can use it to fix colours potentially too.

RG/W26-P10PR is a profile that can be used to top deck annoying cards in front. RG/W10-T01TD is an assist that can also be used to compress memory which can be relevant for some other cards in the deck.

RG/W13-027RR 水辺の佐天

Another final addition to the deck structure I want to point out is above. The main purpose of this card is to use its third effect. That effect is very important not for the power boost, but the forced prevention of your opponent from using events the turn this card enters the field. This guarantees that no pesky anti-damage events or other annoying cards can be used to disrupt your plays. The non-foil is prettier than the foil, fight me.

Backups are options for the deck, particularly if you plan on running RG/W10-030R. RG/W10-T05TD is a generic backup 3000 power level 2 backup, but it does contain the Judgment trait which can be relevant depending on your build. RG/W13-030SR is a 2000 power backup as long as you have a Uiharu or Saten card in memory. RG/W13-047U is a powerful 4000 power backup that can be used to power pump during your turn as well. Keep in mind it only powers up Judgment characters. It sends itself to memory after use.

A secondary way for victory that can be performed in the deck is to compress memory in hopes of cancelling more. Is is important to note that if you do play RG/W13-030SR, you do need to have either a card with Uiharu or Saten in its name in memory. There are quite a few cards that achieve that condition. Keep in mind that though many cards have both Esper and Judgment as traits, Saten does not. Saten can only be fetched through some very specific means, so do take that into account. Beat them down with Saten and then finish them off with Kuroko & Misaka.
