Vividred Operation – Vivid Green (G/R) [09/29/2021]

Wakaba and Akane along with the rest of their gang form a group to defeat the incoming darkness. When the Alones invade and attack Earth, Akane and her friends equip their palette suits and rush into the fray acting as Earth’s sole defenders from the alien menace. When Wakaba combines with Akane, they become the powerful Vivid Green who wields a mighty great-sword to slice her enemies to bits.

Similar to all the other girls, Wakaba shares a docking mechanism with Akane. A specific Wakaba card (VR/W22-023SR) and Akane card (VR/W22-028U) combine, the level 1 and 0 above, into the 2/1 Vivid Green (VR/W22-025SR) on the right.

The Vivid Green card herself carries a combo. Vivid Green is pretty strong on her own being a 8500 beater as long as you meet her condition. This condition is already self-accomplished assuming you brought her out earlier with the bond pairing from before. The idea with her combo is after you attack with her while the climax is in play, she’ll stick around for a couple of turns while retaining an extra 3000 power . She’ll be an effective 11500 powered beater cross-turn just on her own which can be refreshed easily assuming you get the climax.

Wakaba does carry a tap self brainstorm. Keep in mind that her brainstorm lets you pick any card from clock and add it to hand. You can potentially try and recycle a resource you place into clock.

The Vivid Green in the center is your mainstay beater early on. She gains power whenever an ACT effect is used which both effects on VR/W22-021RRR accomplish. Similarly, because character backups are considered an ACT effect, she can potentially grow large on your opponent’s turn and make them think twice about swinging.

The Wakaba card on the right is a generic assist in front, but it carries a married life effect (when a climax is played, give power to a character). She works well in conjunction with VR/W22-025SR to establish supremacy on the field during your turn. Furthermore, she’s a free tap target if you wish to use VR/W22-021RRR‘s effect.

Just like the other girls, Wakaba has a change form of her own. Her change form and her target are shown above. The Wakaba change on the left lets you tap two characters to power boost one of your Key (鍵) characters. Keep in mind that you can tap her as one of the characters needed to activate that effect before changing her.

Her level three has a very strong finishing effect as she can allow you to pay the cost when she swings and look at the top two cards of your opponent’s deck. From there, you can choose to move any card to the bottom of their deck and leave the rest on top. A downside, however, lies in the fact that this Wakaba can’t side attack making you cry at the mercy of your trigger which can potentially cause you to over-swing. Regardless, the effect is pretty strong as you can potentially rip out two climaxes off the top and deal a heavy amount of damage with a single swing.

Unfortunately, the other climax for green does not provide much advantage at all other than solidifying power. Furthermore, the character that combos with that climax is also on a 1/1 at level 1. Alternatively, to maintain advantage, the above combo is suggested. The chances of missing are slim in general considering the vast majority of your deck are Key characters. Since all the docking mechanisms require the 2/1 targets to be in the waiting room, this effect can assist in helping to get VR/W22-025SR in there earlier as with the other bond targets.

Backups are especially good in this deck considering that they pair very well with VR/W22-024R. The Akane backup on the left is very good considering that most of the time aside from some very niche cases, it will provide 3000 power since you’ll more than likely have the condition. VR/W22-030U is a nice backup that provides 3000 power. The card is a bit of a hit and miss potentially since its first effect is mandatory. When you use it, you’ll have to mill the top three cards of your deck which may help you cancel.

The last card I would like to mention in this post is the card above. This Wakaba is an interesting option to include in the deck if you so wish. If this card manages to survive for several turns, the card can grow to be quite a troublesome threat. As it gains levels with every marker along with power, opponents will be eventually forced to crash into it thus giving it even more markers.

I’ve included some more suggestions as options to add to the deck. Wakaba may not be able to gain you hand advantage or have its own built in encore. However, Vivid Green is definitely a formidable beast on the field if you can get its combo off. Given a few turns on the field, Vivid Green can indefinitely put a dent to your opponent’s resources. The finishing Wakaba is pretty decent at closing out games. Show your opponent the power of Vivid Green’s emerald blade!
