Princess Connect Re:Dive – Elizabeth Park/Forestier (Y/G) [07/18/2021]

Elizabeth Park is a guild consisting of beast persons whom enjoy nothing more than the rural landscape and farming activities while often offering guides and tours to incoming guests. Forestier is a guild of elves whom protect the forest while reaping its fruits and helping those who enter. Two members, Shiori of the former and Hatsune of the latter are two birth sisters whom commonly visit one another. Shiori, the adorable yet shy white tiger eared younger sister yearns for her older sister’s attention. While carrying a rather weak composition, she waits at Elizabeth Park joining her friends on their adventures. The older sister, Hatsune, the pink haired sleepy carefree elf loves nothing more than napping and collecting books for her younger sister whenever she visits.

Many of the deck’s cards are composed of the two guilds. Although, there’s no problem with running or teching cards from other guilds as well.

The main combos of the deck dance around these three cards. The left card is the level one combo that works to charge the deck with extra stock advantage. The nicest part of the combo aside from the stock generation is the fact that the combo does not require to reverse, meaning side attacks or direct attacks can be used if the card cannot overcome its opponent. After resolving its effect, if the card remains rested at the start of the encore phase after its combo effect with the bounce climax, it gains the ability to fly back to hand when frontal attacked, preventing the opponent from running over this card for reverse effects on the return swing while netting the player a single hand advantage. Overall, a very good card in my opinion.

The center card, PRD/W84-030RR is the payoff for the left card’s combo effects. As a heal to stock, its already very good on its own, netting a heal and an extra stock for just the exchange of a single discard. It possesses a modular effect with its climax combo that provides the following attacker after the ability to pay two stock and deal two damage at the start of its next attack (damage can be cancelled). It can pair very well with the card below, since the card below is unaffected by any opposing interaction (backups, both character and event) and allows for another instance of damage dealing if the two damage is cancelled.

Finally, the last card of the trio, the third card at the right is a brainstorm that only works with the climaxes for that level 1 combo (the bounce climax) and level 3 combo (the treasure climax). Because of its forced interaction with only those two climaxes, it is given an additional mill for its brainstorm effect, allowing one to effectively reveal five cards rather than the usual four. To add to the spice, this card additionally has one of the best effects tacked on as well for its own brainstorm. The player can scry the top of their deck at the start of their main phase and change its position effectively letting a player “brainstorm” six in a sense.

Add in support like the above cards to help with your combo or try to grab you combo pieces.

Use additional support pieces like the ones above for fetching cards/cycling cards or maintaining field advantage. Cards like beaters or situational conditions will help to assist the player in keeping hand and reach the endgame safely.

Although the main combo of the deck has some pretty great synergies, one common issue is the struggle to get the specific climax needed for the level 1 combo. If possible, I hope in the future, there will be support such to let the player switch climaxes on play so the easily triggered treasure climax can be swapped with the wind. Alternatively, any effect that lets the player grab a climax from deck is appreciated as well. Without the combo, the 1/0 Shiori is rather a weak card, only being an on-turn beater at 6000 power and becoming a very weak card at 4500 on the opposing swing. Being the core of the deck, it is important to make sure that this combo is maintained and hopefully performed at least once or twice during the game. Another issue comes from the lack of an efficient stock paying outlet. More often than not, when playing the deck, the player may find their stock filled with an excessive amount of cards, more than what is required for the level 3 combo with Hatsune. It is extremely prone to getting punished hard by stock swapping effects, crippling the deck and making the player more easily receptible to taking large amounts of soul damage.

Anyways good luck if you enjoy playing with this kind of profile. May the bond of the sisters, Shiori and Hatsune, along with their friends bring you victory.
